Sr. Machine Learning Ops Engineer
Job description
Sr. Machine Learning Ops Engineer at Cim Group.
About the role
Senior ML Ops Engineer
CIM Group seeks a Senior ML Ops Engineer to lead the development of resilient infrastructure for machine learning deployment and lifecycle governance. This position is central to enabling Generative AI capabilities and ensuring that models function as reliable components of our technology stack. The role reports to senior technology leadership and operates at the intersection of data engineering, platform operations, and applied artificial intelligence.
Position Overview
The Senior ML Ops Engineer is accountable for architecting and sustaining the platform that hosts, executes, and monitors machine learning models across the enterprise. This includes the design of systems that support Generative AI use cases, with specific responsibility for implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and integrating vector database technologies. The position translates complex model requirements into stable, scalable infrastructure that adheres to strict regulatory standards.
A core mandate involves bridging the gap between experimental data science and production-grade operations. The Senior ML Ops Engineer establishes the frameworks that allow models to be versioned, tracked, and deployed consistently. Collaboration with Data Science, Platform Engineering, Information Architecture, and business units such as Fund Accounting, Investor Relations, and Investments is essential. This cross-functional cooperation ensures that ML initiatives align with financial data integrity and corporate strategy.
The role defines the long-term ML Ops strategy, focusing on the automation and scaling of models and GenAI applications. By addressing the final stages of AI deployment, the position ensures that theoretical model performance translates into measurable business value. The Senior ML Ops Engineer acts as a foundational enabler of efficiency, accuracy, and speed in delivering AI-powered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior ML Ops Engineer will design intake mechanisms that prepare data for both model training and validation. These pipelines must ensure data quality and consistency throughout the model lifecycle. Containerized deployment workflows for Databricks and Generative AI services will be developed and maintained to meet operational demands.
Model performance and governance metrics will be reviewed to drive infrastructure enhancements. The role will deliver MLOps solutions that operationalize vector database integrations and RAG systems with high reliability. Standards for model versioning and artifact tracking will be defined in partnership with Platform Engineering.
Automated testing suites will be orchestrated to verify model behavior prior to production release. These tests serve as a safeguard against regressions and unintended outcomes. Regulatory compliance will be enforced through strict data handling rules applied across every stage of the model lifecycle.
Infrastructure scalability will be championed to accommodate increases in dataset size and user demand. The systems built must remain robust as ML workloads grow in complexity and volume. This ensures that CIM Group can continue to innovate without compromising on performance or stability.
Requirements
The candidate must bring experience accumulated over 1.00 years in ML or software operations roles. Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Generative AI frameworks, and vector database technologies is mandatory. A deep understanding of model lifecycle management, from initial development through production deployment, is required.
Demonstrated ability to ensure that solutions comply with regulatory and compliance standards for financial data is essential. The Senior ML Ops Engineer will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Data Science and Platform Engineering teams. Automation of deployment and scaling processes for ML models is a primary responsibility.
Experience in managing infrastructure that supports Retrieval-Augmented Generation implementations is expected. The role involves governing model versions and related artifacts within live production environments. This governance function is critical for maintaining auditability and control.
Compensation and Location
This position is based in Los Angeles, California. It is offered as a full-time engagement with a base compensation of $190,000.00 per year. The compensation package reflects 1.00 years of relevant experience and is structured to remain competitive within the technology sector.
