About the role
Chime is seeking a Product Manager for the Lending team based in San Francisco. This role focuses on shaping the lending products and experiences that serve Chime's growing member base across the United States. The Product Manager will work closely with engineering, design, and data teams to define product strategy and deliver meaningful improvements to lending offerings. You will take ownership of key product areas and drive initiatives from ideation through launch and ongoing iteration. The lending product manager plays a critical role in how Chime serves its members' financial needs and helps them build healthier financial lives. You will collaborate with senior leadership to align product priorities with the broader company vision for financial inclusion.
Key facts
What you'll do
Define and execute the product roadmap for lending products at Chime Financial. Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and data science to ship new lending features. Analyze member behavior and financial data to identify opportunities for lending product improvement. Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams. Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform lending product decisions. Monitor key performance indicators and product metrics to evaluate the success of lending initiatives. Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure lending products meet regulatory standards. Prioritize features and trade-offs based on member impact and business objectives. Lead product reviews and sprint planning sessions with the lending team. Present product updates and strategy to leadership and stakeholders on a regular cadence. Iterate on existing lending features to improve the member experience and operational efficiency. Work with the data science team to build models that support lending product personalization and risk assessment. Coordinate with marketing and operations teams to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new lending product features.
Requirements
Experience in product management with a focus on financial services or lending products. Strong understanding of consumer banking, credit products, and the lending lifecycle. Ability to work effectively with engineering and design teams in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated track record of shipping products that have measurable impact on business metrics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in defining product requirements and translating them into actionable development tasks. Experience with data-driven decision making and A/B testing methodologies for product validation. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience in product management. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift quickly based on business needs and member feedback.
Nice to have
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks that govern consumer lending and financial products. Experience working with machine learning models or automated decisioning systems in lending. Background in building products that serve underbanked or underserved populations effectively. Knowledge of payment processing systems and credit scoring methodologies used in lending. Prior experience with open banking APIs or third-party financial data integrations.
