This position centers on complex Epic Hospital Billing configurations within revenue cycle projects. Your daily work will shape system behavior for provider clients and operational teams. You will partner with cross-functional teams including IT, revenue cycle, digital, and project leadership to ensure alignment and successful execution of deliverables. The role demands ownership of end-to-end system configuration for hospital billing within the Epic environment. What you'll do
Design, configure, and maintain Epic Hospital Billing applications to align with project requirements, best practices, and client standards.
Support charge capture, billing workflows, and claims processing through system configuration and build activities.
Participate in Epic-related projects including implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and Community Connect engagements, executing assigned tasks independently.
Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into effective Epic HB system configurations.
Develop and execute test scripts to validate system functionality against design specifications during unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing.
Troubleshoot configuration issues and resolve defects to ensure hospital billing processes operate as intended.
Identify opportunities for system improvements across hospital billing workflows and recommend configuration changes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Create and maintain clear documentation for system builds, design decisions, and workflows to support knowledge transfer.
Analyze denial management and reimbursement workflows within Epic HB to surface process improvements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate deliverables and ensure seamless integration with other revenue cycle functions.
Leverage deep knowledge of hospital billing workflows to guide configuration for charge capture, claims management, and reimbursement.
Champion best practices for Epic system configuration during Community Connect and optimization initiatives.
Contribute to successful project delivery by managing complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
Evaluate digital patient engagement tools such as Cheers where applicable to enhance system usability and patient interaction.
Requirements
You must bring 3-6+ years of Epic experience with a strong focus on system configuration and build.
Epic Hospital Billing certification is required; Epic HB Claims certification is preferred.
You must have supported Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, and/or Community Connect projects in the past.
A deep understanding of hospital billing workflows, including charge capture, claims management, reimbursement, and denial management, is essential.
You must possess a deep grasp of Epic system functionality and interdependencies across the revenue cycle.
The ability to translate business requirements into system build is a non-negotiable skill for this role.
Consistent experience with testing, validation, and issue resolution is expected as part of daily responsibilities.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a project environment are mandatory for success.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are required.
You must be eligible for remote work based in the United States to qualify for this position.
