About the role
The is responsible for serving as the overall program leader for end-to-end enterprise Epic implementations, upgrades, and major optimization efforts across healthcare organizations. This role demands executive level leadership and governance, requiring close partnership with client executives including the CIO, CMIO, CNIO, CFO, and operational leaders to ensure strategic alignment. The hire will own the complete lifecycle of program delivery, delivering on scope, timeline, budget, risk management, and quality outcomes with a high standard of excellence. They will provide leadership to junior staff, actively supporting the development of their skills and delivery knowledge to build a stronger team. The role involves participation in program governance structures such as steering committees, executive reporting, and critical decision forums to maintain momentum. The successful candidate will proactively identify risks and issues, developing mitigation plans and driving resolution with senior stakeholders to keep projects on track. They will ensure alignment across Epic and internal client teams, removing blockers and fostering collaboration throughout the engagement. In addition, they will support client readiness activities, including change management, training strategy, cutover planning, and go-live support to enable smooth transitions.

Requirements

- + years of healthcare consulting or healthcare IT experience, with a deep focus on Epic implementations, demonstrating a track record of success in delivering large-scale technology initiatives.
- You need Prior management consulting experience is strongly preferred, bringing a consultative mindset and structured approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
- Proven experience serving as a Project Director or Program Director on at least one large-scale Epic implementation, showing the ability to manage multifaceted projects end-to-end.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Epic implementation methodologies and core tools to effectively lead planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder decision making across all phases of an Epic deployment (build, testing, training, go-live, and stabilization).
- Strong capability to operate independently and as part of a collaborative team, balancing autonomy with the ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and client representatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear and persuasive communication with executive-level audiences and diverse project team members.
- High level of adaptability and resilience, comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress in fast-paced, dynamic healthcare technology environments.
