About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of software that empowers government and high-security clients to utilize Chainalysis Reactor in their secure environments. Your contributions will be vital in creating tools and systems that facilitate the packaging, delivery, and management of this essential product, ensuring its functionality even in isolated or air-gapped networks.

What you'll do

• Design and enhance a software installer, utilizing Go to automate the installation, configuration, and deployment processes of Reactor at client sites, including those lacking internet connectivity.
• Develop and oversee Java-based services that handle the packaging of blockchain data in the cloud, ensuring its distribution to client locations and readiness for use in on-premises systems.
• Improve the Admin Portal, a web interface created with React and Node.js, enabling clients to manage user access, roles, permissions, and system performance monitoring.
• Implement infrastructure as code practices using Terraform to provision and manage AWS environments designated for development, testing, and data distribution.
• Collaborate with other product teams to integrate their applications into the on-premises deployment framework, establishing deployment specifications, addressing environment-specific challenges, and designing systems that ensure secure tenant separation.
• Play a key role in achieving FedRAMP compliance by integrating audit logging, role-based access control, package signing, and security hardening into the platform, while ensuring high code quality through extensive testing and continuous integration practices.
• Engage in troubleshooting and optimizing production workloads in Kubernetes, ensuring smooth operation of deployed services.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in Java, JavaScript, Go, and Bash for developing production-grade software, including services, system-level tools, and command-line interfaces.
• Comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes, including deployment methods, networking, storage, Helm, and the ability to troubleshoot production workloads effectively.
• Experience with the complete software stack, from backend data processing to frontend user interface development.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, particularly using Terraform.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Linux, encompassing networking, storage, and process management.
• A proactive mindset towards ownership and collaboration with other teams, with a focus on creating reliable code and anticipating potential challenges.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement due to government operating mandates.

Nice to have

• Experience in creating custom Kubernetes operators or familiarity with deployment strategies for air-gapped systems, including OCI registries and image mirroring techniques.
• Background in data delivery systems, particularly in packaging, signing, distributing, and verifying large datasets or software components, with knowledge of Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP and their influence on software design, or experience in designing multi-tenant architectures for secure isolation.
• Knowledge of React or other frontend frameworks for administrative tools, PostgreSQL in production settings, GitOps tools, or a keen interest in cryptocurrency technology.

• U.S. Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this position. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States. The compensation package is competitive, with a salary range of $130,000 to $180,000, along with equity and bonus opportunities.
