About the role
The Director, Total Rewards will lead the development and implementation of innovative compensation and benefits strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent across our global footprint. This role is based in the US and reports into the Head of People. The Director will act as a strategic thought partner to the executive team, embedding total rewards into the fabric of business decision-making. They will own the end-to-end management of the compensation and benefits lifecycle while ensuring consistency and fairness. This is a pivotal position for shaping the employee value proposition in a high-growth environment. The successful candidate will leverage data and market insights to drive decisions that reinforce Chainalysis as an employer of choice.

What you'll do
Analyze and synthesize market data to refine our total rewards strategy and ensure competitive positioning within the Web3 industry.
Champion the evolution of global job architecture and leveling frameworks, resolving legacy inconsistencies and supporting role evolution.
Own the design and governance of global compensation programs, including salary structures, annual incentives, and equity processes.
Develop and implement sophisticated market pricing methodologies that account for the unique dynamics of the blockchain sector.
Drive pay equity and transparency initiatives to reinforce our commitment to fairness and inclusion across all locations.
Oversee executive compensation programs and manage interactions with the Compensation Committee in collaboration with Legal and Head of People.
Design and deploy enhanced benefits strategies that improve employee wellbeing and align with evolving company values.
Manage global vendor relationships for health, welfare, retirement, and other benefit plans, addressing gaps and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Serve as a strategic advisor to Revenue Operations and Sales Leadership on the design, governance, and optimization of global sales compensation plans.
Build robust systems for gathering feedback and measuring the effectiveness of rewards programs to enable continuous improvement.
Lead the development and maturation of a small team of compensation and benefits professionals, fostering a business-centered mindset.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to ensure alignment on compensation frameworks and day-to-day program management.
Communicate total rewards strategies and value propositions effectively to diverse audiences, translating complex concepts into clear messaging.
Establish metrics and processes that demonstrate the impact of total rewards initiatives on business outcomes and talent management.
Promote a culture of transparency and fairness in all rewards-related decisions and communications across the organization.
Requirements
Bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in total rewards, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
Possess a proven track record of developing and implementing global compensation and benefits strategies in complex environments.
Have direct experience managing executive compensation programs and supporting the facilitation of Compensation Committee meetings.
Demonstrate a history of building and scaling programs within high-growth, ambiguous, and agile organizational contexts.
Showcase international benefits experience across multiple countries and regions to navigate diverse regulatory landscapes.
Maintain a deep understanding of global compensation practices, job architecture, and salary structuring methodologies.
Apply strong financial acumen and analytical skills to budgeting, forecasting, and business case development.
Ensure comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions where the company operates.
Exhibit experience with equity compensation programs and the design of incentive plans that drive desired behaviors.
Communicate with exceptional clarity, enabling the translation of complex rewards concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with AI-driven compensation tools and analytics platforms.
Background in blockchain, cryptocurrency, or cybersecurity industries.

This role is based in the New York Office.
Full-time engagement.
