Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive audits of our digital platforms to evaluate compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to integrate accessibility best practices into the design and development processes.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on accessibility principles and compliance requirements to foster a culture of inclusivity.
- Create and maintain documentation related to accessibility policies, procedures, and compliance assessments.
- Monitor changes in accessibility legislation and standards to ensure ongoing compliance and recommend necessary adjustments to company practices.
- Work closely with user experience researchers to gather feedback from users with disabilities, ensuring their perspectives are incorporated into product development.
- Assist in the development of accessible content guidelines for marketing and communications teams to ensure all external communications are inclusive.
- Participate in cross-departmental teams to advocate for accessibility initiatives and support the implementation of inclusive design strategies.
- Analyze and report on accessibility metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for accessibility-related inquiries and issues within the organization.
- Facilitate accessibility testing sessions with users to identify barriers and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Collaborate with external partners and organizations to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in accessibility and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as accessibility, compliance, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accessibility compliance, user experience, or a related area.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG, ADA, and Section 508.
- Proven experience conducting accessibility audits and usability testing with diverse user groups.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and their impact on user experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or similar) is a plus.
