About the role
The Managing Director, Value Creation will establish a dedicated focus on value creation for private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and internal strategic priorities within Cfgi's practice. This individual will own the design of programs that generate measurable financial outcomes while mentoring peers and continuously refining operational excellence. The role requires comfort with dynamic ambiguity and the ability to perform consistently under pressure, blending analytical rigor with practical implementation. Success in this position will be defined by the ability to deliver sustainable, bottom-line impact that materially improves organizational performance. Position Overview
The Managing Director will spearhead the development and scaling of value creation initiatives across a diverse client base, working with stakeholders at the highest levels of the organization. This involves translating board and sponsor expectations into structured action plans that improve operational and financial performance across multiple dimensions. The position demands a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution, ensuring that initiatives move from concept to implementation without losing momentum. The role will require deep engagement with complex problems, necessitating advanced problem-solving and the ability to navigate multifaceted environments. Ownership of the full value creation lifecycle will be essential, from initial diagnosis through to sustained implementation and benefit realization.
Key Accountabilities
The individual will lead the identification and prioritization of EBITDA enhancement opportunities across commercial, operational, and finance functions, ensuring a comprehensive view of potential value pools. You will develop proprietary playbooks that standardize diagnosis, solution design, and implementation for operational improvement, creating reusable frameworks for future engagements. Creating and enforcing governance structures will be central to tracking milestones, initiative progress, and performance metrics, providing clear visibility into program health. You will drive accountability among initiative owners, ensuring alignment with overarching leadership goals and timelines while maintaining rigorous follow-through. The role involves overseeing value capture tracking and benefits realization, translating complex data into board-ready narratives that demonstrate clear progress and ROI. You will craft executive dashboards, scorecards, and materials that clarify complex changes for senior stakeholders, enabling faster decision-making. Steering committees and operating reviews will be facilitated to maintain momentum and remove organizational blockers that impedes value creation. Practice growth will be supported through proactive proposal development, strategic business outreach, and the cultivation of trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders. Mentoring junior analysts and codifying best practices will be essential to elevating team capability and consistency, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the practice. You will work closely with delivery teams to ensure methodological rigor is maintained while adapting approaches to meet specific client needs and constraints.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or an equivalent field is required for this position. The candidate must possess a minimum of six years of experience in domains such as management consulting, transaction advisory, or operational improvement, demonstrating deep practical expertise. Background in MBB or Big4 environments is a prerequisite, indicating exposure to top-tier problem solving and client delivery standards. Demonstrated expertise in project management and multi-level stakeholder engagement is mandatory for success in this complex role. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required for modeling, analysis, and executive storytelling, enabling clear communication of insights. Sharp financial judgment and analytical depth are necessary to navigate complex data sets and derive actionable insights that drive decisions. The ability to communicate clearly and deliver executive-grade presentations to senior audiences is essential for influencing at the highest levels. You must be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are non-negotiable, as the role requires constant interaction with senior stakeholders. A proven commitment to quality, detail, and accuracy is expected in all deliverables and client interactions.

Prior experience within a top-tier consulting firm or a private equity operating partner background is highly valued for this position. Direct experience working with private equity funds and their portfolio companies is a significant advantage, providing context-specific knowledge. Experience presenting findings to executive leadership teams, boards, or private equity investors is strongly preferred to ensure effective communication.
