About the role
You will lead the delivery of complex treasury and commodity advisory engagements for clients ranging from FTSE 100 corporations to private equity-backed businesses and high-growth organisations. This role involves end-to-end ownership of treasury strategy, risk management, and transformation initiatives, driving measurable outcomes in liquidity optimisation and financial risk management. You will work directly with CFOs, Group Treasurers, and senior finance leadership to shape target-state operating models and governance frameworks. The position offers accelerated career progression within a collaborative, high-performance environment alongside experienced practitioners. You will create your own path by taking ownership of multiple workstreams and building deep client relationships. The role provides exposure to high-impact M&A-driven treasury integration programmes and treasury technology implementations. What you'll do
Lead end-to-end delivery of treasury transformation engagements, designing operating models and optimising treasury processes for tangible client outcomes.
Own and drive cash management, liquidity structures, and forecasting improvement initiatives, ensuring measurable outcomes that release trapped liquidity and strengthen financial resilience.
Advise clients on financial risk management, including FX, interest rate, and commodity exposure, while designing robust hedging strategies and treasury policies.
Lead commodity risk advisory engagements, developing risk frameworks, controls, and trading and hedging strategies tailored to client market exposures.
Understand and implement working capital optimisation and supply chain financing solutions, including receivables, payables, and inventory strategies to improve cash conversion cycles.
Oversee implementation and optimisation of Treasury Management Systems such as Kyriba, SAP, FIS, ION, and Bond, alongside payments infrastructure and bank connectivity.
Lead treasury workstreams within M&A transactions, carve-outs, and integration programmes, ensuring alignment with broader deal objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Review and deliver high-quality client outputs, including diagnostics, business cases, financial models, and executive presentations that inform critical decision-making.
Facilitate client workshops and steer stakeholder discussions to define target-state solutions and drive timely, accountable decision-making processes.
Act as a key day-to-day contact for client stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships, proactive communication, and high client satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Manage and coach junior team members, providing mentorship and oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple concurrent engagements.
Leverage proficiency in AI and technology tools, including Co-pilot and Claude, to optimise ways of working, enhance analysis, and improve treasury and commodity advisory delivery.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of treasury processes, financial markets, and risk management frameworks, applying commercial awareness to client advisory.
Demonstrate detail-oriented execution and disciplined project management, navigating ambiguity and driving structured outcomes in complex, client-driven environments.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred for this senior advisory role.
6-10 years of progressive experience in treasury, corporate finance, consulting, or banking, with a proven track record of leading client delivery.
Strong experience across one or more core treasury areas, including cash & liquidity management, treasury transformation, treasury technology, financial risk management, and working capital optimisation.
Solid understanding of treasury processes, financial markets, and risk management frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge to client challenges.
Exposure to commodity markets, including energy, metals, and agriculture, or trading environments is advantageous for specialised advisory engagements.
Proven ability to manage and influence senior client stakeholders, leading delivery across multiple workstreams and complex project timelines.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to structure ambiguous business challenges and develop actionable solutions.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging CFOs, Treasurers, and board-level stakeholders in high-stakes discussions.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential, along with familiarity with treasury systems, data tools, and integration requirements.
Proficiency in use of AI and agent tools such as Co-pilot and Claud, with a mindset focused on leveraging technology to optimise advisory and delivery processes.
Professional certifications such as ACT, CTP, CFA, ACA, or ACCA are advantageous and reflect commitment to professional treasury standards.

Practical notes
This is a full-time role based in London, England, with flexibility around office, remote, or client site work depending on engagement needs.
Travel may be required between client sites in the London region and occasionally further afield, as project demands dictate.
