About the role
You will own the execution of diverse risk-based assignments that challenge your technical judgment and professional skepticism. In this role, you will translate complex business processes into clear control narratives and risk frameworks that stakeholders can act upon. You will serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, helping them navigate the expectations of regulators, auditors, and the board. You will leverage tools such as Visio to map workflows and dependencies with precision and clarity. You will design and execute test plans that provide credible assurance on the effectiveness of key controls. You will synthesize findings into concise observations and root cause analyses that drive meaningful remediation. You will draft high-level reports and recommendations that are suitable for review by management and partners. Ultimately, you will contribute directly to the quality and reputation of the Risk Advisory service line at Cfgi.

What you'll do
Perform risk-based internal audit assignments that require judgment, diligence, and attention to detail.
Create business process flowcharts using Visio or equivalent diagramming tools to visually represent workflows and control environments.
Develop control narratives and risk and control matrices that capture the complexity of business processes and interdependencies.
Engage with process and control owners to clarify current procedures, key controls, system dependencies, and role responsibilities.
Design and execute test plans, collect relevant evidence, and perform testing procedures to assess control effectiveness.
Conduct control design evaluations and test key controls across areas under review to validate alignment with frameworks and policies.
Document testing results in high-quality work papers that clearly describe procedures performed and related audit observations.
Identify root causes of internal control issues and summarize testing results and conclusions in a coherent manner.
Draft formal reports intended for Manager, Director, and Partner review, ensuring readiness for client dissemination.
Propose meaningful, cost-effective recommendations and solutions that address process and control improvement needs.
Demonstrate creativity in problem solving and optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned tasks and deliverables.
Support the Firm's internal initiatives, including training, continuous improvement projects, and cross-team collaboration.
Apply professional skepticism and robust analytical thinking to evaluate risks, controls, and emerging issues.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of methodologies, playbooks, and knowledge-sharing within the Risk Advisory team.
Requirements
Hold a recognized accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or Chartered Certified Accountant.
Possess solid internal audit experience within public accounting or industry environments, demonstrating exposure to assurance and advisory work.
Bring a minimum of 3+ years of experience performing internal audit in public accounting and/or industry settings.
Exhibit excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills that enable effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
Show a strong capacity to assimilate quickly into diverse teams and build productive working relationships.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of key frameworks and standards, including SOX, COSO, SOC 1, and SOC 2.
Demonstrate effective analytical and critical thinking abilities when evaluating processes, risks, and control environments.
Operate with an entrepreneurial nature, self-motivation, ethical behavior, and dependability in all engagements.
