Requirements

• Proven track record as an established scientist with a academic background in theoretical particle physics.
• Active involvement in research or advanced academic pursuits within the field.
• Existing professional relationship with CERN or its theoretical physics programs is essential.
• Strong interest in contributing to significant international scientific research initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and theoretical skills, with the ability to engage in advanced research.
• Proficiency in English and/or French, with the ability to communicate effectively in a scientific context.

• Experience working in an international research environment.

Practical notes

• Ideal start date: February 1, 2027.
• Contract duration: Up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months.
• Weekly Working Hours: 40.

Global Benefits

• A monthly subsistence allowance ranging from 6,683 to 9,465 Swiss Francs (tax-free), based on your experience.
• 2.5 days of authorized absences per month, provided your contract lasts at least four months, in addition to two weeks of annual closure.
• Family supplement to the subsistence allowance, depending on individual circumstances.
• Coverage for travel expenses to Geneva upon joining CERN, contingent on individual circumstances.

• You must remain employed by your home institution during your tenure at CERN.
• By the application deadline, candidates must be below the CERN retirement age.
