About the role
The PoWER Initiative Coordinator at the CDC Foundation serves as a critical implementation partner for the Kentucky Department for Public Health, owning the day-to-day coordination of the statewide PoWER Teams initiative. This position is responsible for translating the strategic vision of the Rural Health Transformation Program into actionable plans that address maternity care deserts across Kentucky. The hire will manage the logistical and operational backbone of the People Who Work for Engagement and Resilience model, ensuring alignment with community-based maternal health goals. They will act as a central coordination hub, synchronizing activities among partners, providers, and community stakeholders to support resilience and engagement. This role requires ownership of complex project timelines, meticulous tracking of deliverables, and proactive problem-solving to keep implementation on track. The coordinator will directly support the Aspire → Activate → Attain transformation framework by maintaining the discipline and documentation necessary for scaled rollout. Ultimately, this position ensures that PoWER Teams are effectively launched, sustained, and continuously improved to improve outcomes for pregnant and postpartum Kentuckians.

What you'll do
Coordinate the statewide launch, rollout, and continuous improvement of Kentucky's PoWER Teams as a core implementation function.
Support development and execution of the PoWER implementation plan in close partnership with the PoWER Initiative Lead and RHTP leadership.
Organize and manage logistics for training sessions, stakeholder meetings, and site visits across diverse Kentucky settings.
Develop and maintain program tracking mechanisms, including initiative calendars, task trackers, and progress dashboards for transparency.
Prepare status reports, briefing documents, and presentations tailored for leadership to demonstrate compliance with CMS requirements.
Assist with procurement and distribution of supplies and technology necessary for mobile and maternal health programming.
Serve as a primary point of contact for initiative partners, responding to inquiries and facilitating timely collaboration.
Draft and distribute communication materials, newsletters, and updates for both internal and external stakeholders.
Support planning and facilitation of maternal health convenings, workgroups, and advisory sessions, including agenda development and documentation.
Maintain comprehensive stakeholder contact lists and engagement records to enable consistent outreach and structured follow-up.
Collect and organize initiative data against Objectives and Key Results and populate performance dashboards for monitoring progress.
Assist data validation, quality checks, and reporting workflows to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and integrity.
Collaborate with the RHT Quality & Evaluation Lead to compile metrics required for CMS reporting and internal reviews.
Recommend continuous improvement strategies based on data insights, stakeholder feedback, and implementation lessons learned.
Partner with Regional Program Managers to guide PoWER rollout, onboarding of Community Health Workers and doulas, and workforce readiness.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, health policy, nursing, or a related field is required for eligibility.
3+ years' of experience in program coordination, healthcare operations, or public health administration is mandatory, with emphasis on maternal health or rural health settings.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including scheduling, logistics, and stakeholder engagement, must be clearly established.
Strong data management and reporting skills are required, with direct experience compiling performance metrics and supporting compliance requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the capacity to prepare reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in public health, health policy, health administration or a related field is preferred for this role.
Experience with rural health systems and culturally responsive engagement strategies is a preferred qualification.
Understanding of maternal health data systems, quality improvement, and monitoring of perinatal outcomes is preferred.
Certification in quality improvement or healthcare management (e.g., CPHQ, PMP) is listed as a preferred credential.
Familiarity with Kentucky's public health ecosystem, rural community needs, and social determinants of health is preferred.

Current work environment is primarily hybrid (2-3 days a week in office).
This role may require statewide travel.
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000, depending on experience (plus benefits)
