What you'll do

Lead the architectural design and implementation of scalable, high-performance platform solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and refine system requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Develop and maintain architectural standards and best practices, providing guidance to engineering teams on implementation strategies.
Conduct thorough evaluations of new technologies and tools, assessing their potential impact on the platform architecture and overall system performance.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Drive the adoption of DevOps practices and principles, enhancing the efficiency of development and deployment processes.
Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimization strategies to enhance reliability and scalability.
Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions, advocating for best practices and innovative solutions.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure that all architectural designs adhere to industry standards and best practices for security and compliance.
Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, using this information to inform architectural decisions and improvements.
Document architectural decisions and system designs clearly, ensuring that all relevant parties have access to necessary information.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, integrating relevant innovations into the platform architecture as appropriate.

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on platform architecture and system design.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a deep understanding of software development methodologies.
Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and an understanding of data modeling principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex architectural challenges.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
A collaborative mindset, with a proven track record of working successfully in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
Knowledge of serverless architecture and event-driven systems.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within an engineering team.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
