About the role
Carvana is seeking a technician to join our Greenfield Inspection Center to perform cosmetic restorations on our vehicle inventory. You will work the 2nd shift to ensure our cars meet high quality standards before they reach customers. In this role, you own the responsibility of meticulously restoring vehicle interiors to a like-new condition, directly impacting the customer's first impression. You own the safety and integrity of the repair process by strictly adhering to all company procedures and safety protocols. This position requires you to own your schedule and punctuality to meet the production demands of the shift. You own the quality of the final product, ensuring every repair meets the rigorous standards expected from Carvana. This role demands ownership of your tools and workspace organization to maintain efficiency. You own the continuous improvement of your craft by applying feedback to enhance repair outcomes.

What you'll do
- Execute comprehensive restoration of damaged upholstery utilizing techniques for leather, cloth, vinyl, and plastic surfaces.
- Undertake meticulous repair of interior components including dashboards, center consoles, headliners, seats, and stitching to return them to optimal condition.
- Perform precise color matching and expert fabric dyeing to seamlessly blend repairs with the existing vehicle materials.
- Conduct detailed diagnostics and repairs on windshield and window damage, effectively addressing bullseyes, stars, cracks, scratches, and combination breaks.
- Operate efficiently within a production environment, demonstrating adaptability and consistency to meet throughput requirements.
- Fulfill mandatory overtime requirements as dictated by business needs to ensure operational goals are met without delay.
- Implement rigorous safety practices while handling tools and materials to prevent workplace incidents and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline workflow and resolve bottlenecks in the inspection and repair process.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs performed and materials used for quality assurance and tracking purposes.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence by proactively identifying areas for improvement in procedures and suggesting actionable solutions.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in auto interior or glass repair to demonstrate your technical competency.
- Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver license to fulfill the essential functions of this role.
- Exhibit the strength to lift up to 60 pounds independently as required for handling heavy components and materials.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure and exposure to varying temperatures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to ensure clear communication and safety.
- Commit to wearing all required safety gear, including goggles, masks, gloves, and non-slip shoes, at all times.
- Agree to pass a comprehensive background check as a condition of employment with the company.
