What you'll do
Perform detailed inspections of interior components and glass surfaces to identify damage accurately using specialized assessment techniques.
Execute precise repairs on damaged cloth, fabric, leather, vinyl, and other upholstery materials with attention to texture and durability.
Restore center consoles, seats, dashboards, headliners, plastic components, and stitching using industry-approved methods and materials.
Accurately color match and dye cloth and fabric to ensure seamless integration with the vehicle's original appearance.
Evaluate windows and windshields for stars, bullseyes, combination breaks, cracks, and scratches using established diagnostic criteria.
Perform professional-grade repairs on automotive glass damage while maintaining structural integrity and optical clarity.
Utilize state-of-the-art tools and equipment located in high-tech Inspection Centers to complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
Adhere to all safety procedures and quality standards to ensure compliance with company protocols and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing best practices and suggesting enhancements to repair processes.
Work collaboratively with team members to support workflow efficiency and ensure timely completion of repair tasks.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills when addressing complex interior and glass repair challenges.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency in the repair environment.
Communicate professionally with customers and team members regarding repair status and vehicle condition when required.
Complete all necessary documentation related to repairs, inspections, and quality checks in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 3 years of professional automotive interior repair and/or glass repair experience as verified through employment history.
Hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational credential as a baseline educational qualification.
Demonstrate proven ability to perform interior repairs including cloth, fabric, leather, plastic, and vinyl upholstery work.
Show competency in repairing center consoles, seats, dashboards, headliners, plastic components, and stitching techniques.
Have experience with color matching and dying cloth and fabric to achieve professional-level results.
Possess knowledge of automotive glass types and repair methodologies for stars, bullseyes, combination breaks, cracks, and scratches.
Maintain the physical ability to perform repetitive motions and work in various bending, reaching, and lifting positions as required by the role.
Be capable of standing for extended periods and working in environments that may involve noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Commit to following all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
Be willing to work mandatory overtime based on business needs to ensure exceptional customer service and vehicle delivery commitments.
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment with Carvana.
Possess valid identification and eligibility to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship at this time.
Have reliable transportation or means to commute to the University Park, Illinois location consistently and punctually.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex repair instructions accurately.
