In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee a team of hourly associates at our Inspection Center, ensuring that vehicle reconditioning objectives are consistently achieved. Your primary responsibilities will include coaching team members, upholding production quality, and managing the inventory flow throughout the repair process. What you'll do
- Supervise the safe intake and output of vehicles, ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are met effectively.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Inspection Center, assessing team performance and providing hands-on coaching to enhance individual skill sets.
- Cultivate a positive team atmosphere, addressing and resolving any conflicts that may arise among staff members.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to review and authorize vehicle repairs, ensuring adherence to quality standards and accurate cost estimates.
- Train team members on quality control measures to guarantee that repairs are executed correctly on the first attempt, minimizing rework.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and preventing workplace injuries.
- Clearly communicate performance expectations and operational policies to your team, ensuring everyone is aligned with the goals of the department.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with other departments to streamline the repair process and enhance efficiency.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow and reduce waste in the reconditioning process.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and team performance metrics for reporting purposes.
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
- Act as a liaison between your team and upper management, providing feedback and suggestions for operational enhancements.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record for the past three years is essential.
- Previous experience in vehicle reconditioning processes and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently is required.
- Must be capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and walking in a shop environment.
- Proficiency in computer usage is essential for managing records and communications.
- Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and varying shifts as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effective team interaction and reporting.

- Experience in a leadership role within an automotive or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and production tracking software can be advantageous.
- Certification in safety training or quality control processes is beneficial.
