About the role

In this position, you will directly support the daily throughput and operational integrity of our auction facility located in Reno, Nevada. The role requires a high level of ownership over vehicle flow, ensuring that inventory is accurately prepared, staged, and organized for each sale day. You will work primarily outdoors, interacting with the elements to ready vehicles for market. Success in this role means actively contributing to the efficiency and professionalism of the sale line. This position demands reliability and a strong work ethic to keep operations running smoothly. You will be a key part of the team that prepares vehicles for customer inspection and sale. Your efforts will directly impact the lot readiness and overall success of the auction.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Apply preparatory stickers and location markers to vehicles to facilitate accurate identification and movement.
• Utilize lot tow trucks, forklifts, and service trucks to safely transport inventory across the facility.
• Conduct basic vehicle readiness checks, including jump-starting batteries, adding essential fluids, and inflating tires.
• Execute vehicle check-in procedures by scanning units into the inventory management system to ensure data accuracy.
• Clear personal belongings from vehicles while verifying critical details such as mileage, VIN, and manufacturing year.
• Liaise with shop and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain a fluid workflow on the sale line.
• Implement cleaning protocols to uphold a tidy and hazard-free environment on the lot.
• Monitor vehicle positions and adjust staging as required to optimize auction day operations.
• Document any observable issues to support timely resolution and maintain lot standards.
• Assist with special projects or ad hoc tasks that support the broader objectives of the lot team.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver license to operate company vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely operate various vehicle types, including forklifts and tow trucks as required by the role.
• Possess the physical capacity to perform light to medium labor, including frequent bending, lifting, and walking over extended periods.
• Show proficiency in English, encompassing both written and verbal communication, to ensure clear and effective interactions.
• Exhibit the capability to work comfortably in outdoor conditions while being exposed to varying weather and shop environment elements.
• Successfully pass a background check as part of the pre-employment screening process.
• Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent, which is strongly preferred for this position.
• Maintain a reliable mode of transportation to ensure consistent attendance during the scheduled work week.
• Be willing to adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines without exception.
• Display reliability and punctuality to meet the demands of the Monday through Friday schedule.

• Bring prior experience working within the automotive or auction industry to apply practical knowledge on the job.

Skills & tools

• Demonstrate skill in using electronic scanning devices and related computer applications for data entry and tracking.
