What you'll do
- Perform heavy plastic welding on multiple vehicle panels using advanced techniques to ensure structural integrity and durability.
- Conduct minor metal pulling operations to restore panel alignment and surface geometry without compromising factory specifications.
- Execute roof and rocker panel repair processes, including assessment, disassembly, and reassembly with attention to sealing and fitment.
- Carry out large area, heavy bodywork procedures, including extensive Bondo repair and surface preparation for priming and painting.
- Operate state of the art inspection and repair equipment located in high-tech Inspection Centers to meet quality benchmarks.
- Apply professional refinishing preparation methods to guarantee optimal adhesion and finish quality on repaired sections.
- Follow strict safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements to maintain a hazard free work environment for all team members.
- Participate in ongoing training programs designed to develop skills for entry level positions and support career progression within the company.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction by ensuring vehicles are repaired accurately and delivered on schedule according to company commitments.
- Support team objectives by assisting with process improvements, tool maintenance, and organization of work areas for efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding material needs, tool availability, and potential obstacles impacting repair timelines.
- Demonstrate adaptability when facing unexpected damage scenarios and work collaboratively to determine the best repair approach.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the repair bay in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring tools to verify panel dimensions and alignment before and after repair procedures.
- Support documentation efforts related to repair processes, warranty information, and customer records as required by company policy.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of 3 years of professional automotive bodywork experience as verified through employment history or credentials.
- Demonstrate proven ability to perform heavy plastic welding, minor metal pulling, roof and rocker panel repair, and large area Bondo repair.
- Show competency with state of the art tools and equipment used in high-tech Inspection Centers in a professional automotive setting.
- Possess the physical capability to safely lift, move, and position vehicle panels and related equipment as part of normal repair duties.
- Maintain reliable transportation or means of commute to the Akron, NY location consistent with scheduled shifts and overtime requirements.
- Commit to working mandatory overtime when business needs dictate, including evenings or weekends based on operational demands.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, quality standards, and procedural guidelines without exception during all work activities.
- Successfully pass any required background checks, drug screenings, or employment verification steps as part of the hiring process.
- Understand and accept that the role may involve exposure to automotive chemicals, dust, and noise inherent to body repair environments.
- Agree to participate in training and development programs when assigned to ensure consistent performance and career growth within the organization.

Practical notes
You must be available for the scheduled hours and willing to accept mandatory overtime based on business demands. Travel is limited to the assigned work location in Akron, NY.
