About the role
As the General Manager at our Sacramento Inspection Center, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the facility, ensuring that all vehicles adhere to our stringent 150-point quality assurance standards. You will lead a diverse team of up to 500 associates across various shifts, fostering a culture of excellence within a lean manufacturing environment. Your primary focus will be on optimizing production efficiency, managing costs effectively, and cultivating a positive workplace atmosphere.

What you'll do
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align the facility's capabilities with anticipated business growth and market demands.
- Oversee the management of production workflows, ensuring capacity planning is executed effectively and performance metrics are reported weekly.
- Take charge of the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring clear career advancement paths for both associates and leadership roles.
- Regularly visit the shop floor to maintain alignment with business objectives and provide mentorship to reconditioning managers.
- Enforce adherence to standardized work practices, implement 5S methodologies, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, allocating resources for problem-solving activities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, ensuring that production targets are consistently achieved and exceeded.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and accountability among all associates.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication across the organization.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting performance trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring that all operational decisions align with delivering exceptional service.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of management experience in the automotive industry or lean manufacturing, with a proven track record of leading multiple teams.
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record for the last three years.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, overtime, and shifts as needed to meet operational demands.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the capacity to adapt to extreme weather conditions.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds and walk distances of up to 3 miles daily.
- Proficiency in English, encompassing reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
