What you'll do

Direct and oversee daily operations within the Carvana Inspection Center in Manville, ensuring alignment with company standards and expectations.

Provide hands-on mentoring and accountability to direct reports while developing succession plans through coaching, leadership development, and performance management.

Participate in the creation and execution of strategic plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring they support the broader mission and targets of Carvana.

Uphold all operating standards, systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards to maintain consistency and quality across the center.

Champion a work environment that encourages positive communication, teamwork, and adherence to Carvana's core values at every level.

Recruit, select, orient, and train employees to build a strong, reliable, and skilled supervisory staff capable of meeting operational demands.

Ensure the consistent execution of progression path training and certification processes so that associates are prepared for their roles.

Train and mentor leads and associates by delivering clear, competency-based feedback that drives improvement and mastery.

Monitor and maintain adequate production capacity levels for each line, collaborating with leadership on production planning and adjustments.

Enforce strict compliance with all health and safety and loss prevention guidelines to protect associates, customers, and assets.

Provide clear vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to achieve or exceed performance metrics in quality, delivery, and cost.

Positively reinforce and engage the team around quality, production, and cost objectives to sustain high performance and motivation.

Lead and participate in problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Adapt to shifting priorities and demands while maintaining focus on long-term goals and team development.

Requirements

You must have 5 years of management experience in either automotive or a lean manufacturing environment to qualify for this role.

You must demonstrate knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and how they apply to vehicle reconditioning operations.

You must have proven experience leading and developing associates through coaching, feedback, and structured training.

You must have a proven ability to deliver project results and meet company metrics consistently over time.

You must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level that ensures clear communication with all associates.

You must be at least 18 years of age to perform the essential functions of this position.

You must hold a valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.

You must be able to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

You must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.

You must be able to work effectively with and through teams to achieve shared results and company objectives.

You must show strong analysis and decision-making ability when addressing complex operational challenges.

You must be proficient in computer systems and tools used in a manufacturing and inspection environment.

You must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required to meet business needs and production schedules.

You must be able to walk up to three miles each day while performing duties in the inspection center.

You must be able to stand for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling.

You must be comfortable working in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet, including exposure to fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.

You must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently, with the majority of lifting occurring between knee and shoulder heights.

You must be capable of performing multiple physical tasks repeatedly, such as reaching, grasping, and handling parts during the inspection and reconditioning process.
