Carvana is hiring technicians to restore vehicle wheels at our high-tech Inspection Centers. You will work in a fast-paced environment to ensure our inventory meets strict quality standards before reaching customers. In this role, you own the integrity and safety of every wheel that leaves the facility, directly impacting customer satisfaction and brand trust. You own the adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of heavy-duty equipment to prevent workplace accidents. You own the accuracy of the repairs, ensuring that each wheel meets the visual and structural standards set by the company. What you'll do
- Restore severely compromised wheel structures by removing bent and cracked metal using precision cutting tools.
- Operate specialized wheel repair machinery to realign and reshape damaged rims back to factory specifications.
- Strip existing finishes from wheel surfaces using media blasting and chemical agents to prepare for refinishing.
- Apply paint and clear-coat finishes to wheels, ensuring uniform coverage and adherence to color matching standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of repaired wheels using calibrated measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Work in a production-focused facility where speed and accuracy must be balanced to meet daily throughput targets.
- Wear required safety gear including masks, gloves, goggles, and non-slip footwear to mitigate exposure to hazards.
- Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure longevity and operational efficiency throughout shifts.
- Assist in training new team members on proper repair techniques and safety protocols as directed by senior staff.
- Rotate between multiple workstations to support operational flexibility and address workflow bottlenecks as they arise.
- Sort and organize incoming wheel inventory based on damage severity and required repair procedures.
- Communicate effectively with logistics teams to ensure repaired wheels are staged correctly for dispatch.
- Follow all written and verbal instructions to comply with company quality control checkpoints.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in rim or wheel repair.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver license required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance.
- Capacity to work in environments with varying temperatures.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime when business needs arise.
- Must pass a background check as part of the hiring process.
- Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records review if applicable to the role.
- Must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring company sponsorship.
- Must demonstrate the physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
