About the role
Carvana is on the lookout for talented Automotive Upholstery Repair Technicians to join our team at the Oklahoma City Inspection Center. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our used vehicle inventory meets the highest quality standards. Your primary focus will be on restoring and repairing vehicle interiors and glass, making certain that each car is in excellent condition before it is delivered to our customers. This position demands a strong commitment to achieving production targets and may require you to work overtime based on business needs.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct repairs on various materials including cloth, leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces to restore vehicle interiors.
- Revitalize center consoles, seats, dashboards, headliners, and stitching to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Execute color matching and dyeing processes for different types of interior fabrics to maintain aesthetic consistency.
- Address windshield issues such as bullseyes, star breaks, cracks, and surface scratches to ensure safety and visibility.
- Work efficiently in a production environment, utilizing specialized tools designed for automotive repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Document repair processes and maintain accurate records of work completed for quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive interior or glass repair is required.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply.
- A valid driver's license is necessary for this role.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently is essential for performing various repair tasks.
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to different temperatures.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required for effective communication.
- Willingness to wear necessary safety equipment, including goggles, masks, and non-slip footwear, is mandatory.
- Candidates must successfully pass a background check as part of the hiring process.
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced automotive repair techniques or certifications in upholstery or glass repair is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry-standard repair tools and equipment can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
- Previous experience in a high-volume production environment may be beneficial.
