Key facts
What you'll do
- Utilize specialized equipment to repair wheels and rims that have sustained significant damage.
- Apply paint and clear-coat finishes to achieve a professional and high-quality appearance.
- Conduct thorough inspections of wheels and rims to assess damage and determine the best repair methods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating tools and equipment.
- Document repair processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Stay updated on the latest techniques and technologies in wheel and rim repair to enhance skills and service quality.
Requirements
- At least one year of hands-on experience in wheel or rim repair is required.
- Must be able to operate various vehicle equipment and tools, including the ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license; some positions may necessitate a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to varying weather conditions.
- Familiarity with personal protective equipment, including goggles, gloves, and non-slip footwear.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Nice to have
- Additional experience in automotive repair tasks such as bodywork or painting would be advantageous.
- Certification in automotive repair or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in a high-volume repair shop is beneficial.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in the use of wheel repair machinery and automotive painting tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on repair progress.
