What you'll do
- Assess vehicles for cosmetic imperfections and repairs prior to and following the painting process.
- Perform additional tasks such as prepping, sanding, and masking vehicles as needed.
- Conduct thorough examinations to ensure all vehicle surfaces meet established quality standards.
- Identify any defects that may require further attention from the repair team.
- Utilize inspection tools and technology to document findings accurately.
- Collaborate with painting and repair staff to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support safety and productivity.
- Follow all company procedures and safety protocols during every shift.
- Contribute to team goals by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Support operational needs by performing vehicle checks with speed and precision.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status and concerns.
- Adhere to production schedules to ensure workflow remains uninterrupted.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by management to improve overall operations.
- Demonstrate adaptability by learning new techniques and technologies as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of professional automotive prepping experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently and operate vehicle equipment and tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, occasionally exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check as part of the hiring process.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship is required for this position.
- All employment decisions are contingent upon successfully passing drug screening and background checks.
- Candidates must meet all safety and compliance standards set by Carvana.
Nice to have
- Experience in additional automotive roles such as Paint Prepper, Entry-Level Painter, Mid-Level Painter, or Experienced Painter.
