What you'll do

• Tackle intricate and ambiguous technical issues by developing clear and actionable plans for the engineering team to follow.
• Spearhead architectural enhancements that improve the reliability and scalability of our interconnected systems, ensuring they meet the demands of our growing user base.
• Facilitate alignment among cross-functional teams regarding significant technical decisions, effectively bridging gaps between different domains.
• Create and implement standards and infrastructure that enable the safe and efficient integration of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Provide mentorship to senior engineers, helping to define a vision for operational excellence that raises the overall technical standards within the organization.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that our solutions are both innovative and feasible.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in professional software engineering, showcasing a robust technical background.
• A proven track record of providing high-level technical leadership and guidance within engineering teams.
• Extensive expertise in designing and building distributed systems that are scalable and resilient.
• Proficiency in a variety of technologies, including Python, Django, React, Postgres, JVM languages, gRPC, and AWS cloud-native infrastructure.
• Strong ability to lead by influence, utilizing effective communication and technical discipline rather than relying solely on direct authority.
• An aptitude for foreseeing potential business obstacles and architecting systems that facilitate long-term growth and adaptability.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and their integration into production systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, enhancing the deployment and operational efficiency of software applications.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development, ensuring the protection of sensitive data.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Python and Django for backend development.
• Experienced with React for building dynamic user interfaces.
• Skilled in using Postgres for database management and optimization.
• Familiar with JVM languages for various application needs.
• Knowledgeable in gRPC for efficient communication between services.
• Experienced with AWS for cloud infrastructure management and deployment.
