About the role
In this role, you will oversee the entire visual process, from conceptualizing campaign ideas to their execution across various platforms such as paid social and YouTube. You will be responsible for directing the aesthetic and strategic vision of our brand's visual identity, ensuring that every piece of content aligns with our core values and performance goals. Your work will encompass both high-level strategy and hands-on creation, ranging from quick social media content to elaborate campaigns that may feature celebrities and complex shoots. You will work in tandem with the performance marketing team, using creative insights to directly influence campaign performance and refine messaging in real time. This position requires a balance of artistic integrity and data-driven decision-making to produce work that is both visually compelling and effective in driving user action. You will act as the guardian of visual consistency while fostering innovation and collaboration across cross-functional teams. The role demands adaptability, as you will manage diverse projects with varying scopes and deadlines in a fast-paced growth environment. What you'll do
- Direct the visual aspects of projects from ideation to market launch, including art direction, storyboarding, and social media content, with an emphasis on paid advertising and campaign strategies.
- Generate and present creative concepts in response to initial briefs, influencing how our brand is perceived in the marketplace through thoughtful visual language.
- Lead visual direction during pre-production and on set, making key decisions on casting and collaborating with external professionals to achieve the best visual outcomes for each project.
- Analyze creative performance data and participate in weekly brainstorming sessions with the performance marketing team to refine and enhance ongoing projects based on actionable insights.
- Oversee daily output from paid social editing teams while managing multiple projects within larger campaigns, ensuring quality and timeliness across all deliverables.
- Coach and manage a small team of senior creatives focused on post-production tasks, providing guidance, feedback, and clear direction to elevate their work.
- Serve as the primary custodian of Juniper's visual identity, ensuring all brand elements are applied consistently across platforms and touchpoints.
- Foster collaboration with designers across various teams to maintain cohesive visual storytelling and support broader marketing initiatives.
- Translate complex brand guidelines into practical creative workflows that balance aesthetics with performance requirements.
- Mentor team members in best practices for visual storytelling, helping them grow their skills and align with project objectives.
- Monitor industry trends and visual techniques to continuously evolve the creative direction of digital campaigns.
- Ensure all visual assets meet brand standards while being optimized for different platforms and audience segments.
- Support the development of long-term creative strategies that integrate seamlessly with performance-driven marketing efforts.
- Contribute to the creation of a diverse content library that can be repurposed across channels and campaigns over time.
- Act as a key liaison between creative and performance teams to ensure alignment between visual execution and campaign results.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in advertising design, graphic design, art direction, or similar creative roles, preferably with in-house experience.
- Experience at an Australian design or advertising agency, showcasing a portfolio that highlights expertise in advertising, branding, and campaign identity.
- Strong visual skills with a focus on typography, layout, imagery, and creating a polished brand presence that communicates clearly and effectively.
- Willingness to engage directly in the creative process, translating ideas into high-quality visual outputs from concept to completion.
- Based in Sydney and able to work closely with the team, including active participation in shoots and collaborative creative sessions on-site.
- Culturally sensitive and empathetic, understanding the nuances of working in a sensitive health-related field where messaging must be handled with care.
