About the role
You will define and own the entire analytics strategy for a high-growth hospitality technology company, shaping how over 20,000 hotels worldwide use data to operate. You will serve as the central architecture authority, deciding which tools, data models, and governance policies the organization adopts for all business intelligence initiatives. You will partner directly with enterprise customers to understand their reporting needs and translate complex operational questions into clear, actionable data narratives. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines that consolidate information from property management systems, booking platforms, and third-party integrations into a reliable truth source. You will build and maintain a robust business intelligence infrastructure that balances speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and security. You will mentor junior analysts and non-technical stakeholders on data literacy, ensuring the entire organization can interpret key metrics and dashboards correctly. You will own the roadmap for analytics products, prioritizing initiatives that drive measurable impact on hotel profitability and operational efficiency for Canary's flagship platform. You will establish best practices for data visualization, metric definitions, and storytelling, ensuring every dashboard and report serves a clear decision-making purpose across the organization.

What you'll do
Lead the end-to-end design of Canary's data architecture, selecting technologies for warehousing, transformation, and visualization that align with enterprise hotelier requirements.
Define and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, establishing clear ownership, definitions, and standards for all key metrics used across the business.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for new data capabilities and analytics features.
Develop and deploy scalable data pipelines using modern ETL and orchestration tools to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent data flows from source systems.
Create and curate a library of core business metrics and key performance indicators that provide a single version of the truth for hotel performance and platform usage.
Build and optimize interactive dashboards and reporting solutions that enable hoteliers and internal stakeholders to explore data, identify trends, and make faster decisions.
Partner with enterprise customers to diagnose complex business questions, designing ad hoc analyses and custom reports that uncover actionable insights into occupancy, revenue, and guest behavior.
Establish data quality monitoring and alerting mechanisms, proactively identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential issues before they impact business decisions.
Drive the adoption of self-service analytics tools, enabling non-technical teams to explore data safely while maintaining oversight and standardization from the analytics function.
Lead data-driven experiments and impact analyses, measuring the business outcomes of new features and platform changes to inform future investment priorities.
Champion the use of data visualization best practices, ensuring all outputs are clear, intuitive, and tailored to the specific needs of different stakeholder groups.
Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to develop analytics playbooks that demonstrate the value of Canary's platform to prospective and existing hotel customers.
Implement advanced analytics techniques, including cohort and segment analysis, to surface patterns in hotel performance and guide product development and marketing strategies.
Document analytical processes, methodologies, and insights in a centralized knowledge base, ensuring continuity and enabling other teams to leverage findings independently.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline, demonstrating a strong foundation in analytical thinking.
You bring 8 or more years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related domain, with a proven track record of delivering data-driven impact at scale.
You have hands-on experience with modern data stack components, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tools, and business intelligence platforms.
You are proficient in SQL and comfortable writing complex queries to transform, aggregate, and analyze data across large, multi-source datasets.
You have a strong command of at least one data visualization tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, and can design dashboards that communicate insights effectively.
You demonstrate deep understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling, star schema design, and the trade-offs involved in structuring analytics environments.
You have experience working with hospitality, travel, or SaaS data sets, understanding the unique metrics and challenges that define these industries.
You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex analytical concepts into clear recommendations and actionable steps.

Experience working with AI and machine learning analytics tools to augment business intelligence workflows and automate insights.
Familiarity with hospitality-specific property management systems and booking platforms commonly used by large hotel brands.
