What you'll do

• Architect and sustain foundational platform services and frameworks that serve as the backbone for distributed applications.
• Engineer robust automation for testing, integration, and deployment to accelerate release cycles and reduce manual intervention.
• Implement and administer cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code to guarantee environment consistency and reproducibility.
• Develop and maintain internal developer tools that enhance productivity and streamline operational workflows for engineering teams.
• Orchestrate end-to-end engineering workflows, focusing on the automation of release management and version control strategies.
• Partner with product and engineering stakeholders to collaboratively define, scope, and deliver critical platform capabilities and features.
• Govern the complete lifecycle of platform features, encompassing initial design, comprehensive documentation, implementation, and long-term maintenance.
• Optimize system performance through rigorous analysis, debugging, and the application of established software design patterns.
• Ensure platform components adhere to security standards and best practices for distributed systems in a multi-tenant environment.
• Lead initiatives to standardize tooling and processes across engineering groups to promote consistency and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents swiftly.
• Mentor junior engineers on platform usage and contribute to the technical growth of the engineering community.

Requirements

• Hold a B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• Bring a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend, platform, DevOps, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering within production-grade environments.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Java and at least one scripting language such as Python, Shell, or Groovy to automate tasks and build tools.
• Possess hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release automation to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Have a background in infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform, and proven ability in cloud environment management on major platforms.
• Show a solid understanding of software design patterns, testing methodologies, debugging techniques, and performance analysis practices.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues in complex, distributed systems.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on priorities and constraints.

Nice to have

• Demonstrate experience using Go for infrastructure tooling or cloud platform development to build efficient and scalable services.

• The California base pay range is $145,000 to $198,000 USD.
