About the role
Join the C3 Ai data science team to build and deploy large-scale enterprise applications for global organizations. You will collaborate with engineers and domain experts to implement AI models and agentic systems that drive digital transformation across various industries. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of advanced data science initiatives, translating ambiguous business challenges into scalable technical solutions. You will act as a key technical leader, designing experiments and analytical frameworks that uncover strategic insights and validate complex hypotheses. The role requires you to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and production-grade software, ensuring that models are robust, reliable, and impactful. You will work closely with customers to understand their unique operational constraints and co-create AI applications that deliver measurable business value. What you'll do
- Investigate and analyze complex business problems to formulate testable hypotheses and define success metrics for AI initiatives.
- Architect and implement scalable machine learning pipelines that leverage the C3 Ai Platform for real-time decision-making and analytics.
- Design and deploy generative AI models and agentic systems that automate complex workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct rigorous performance evaluations of models in production environments, monitoring key metrics such as accuracy, drift, and latency.
- Collaborate with data engineers to architect data ingestion and transformation workflows, ensuring the integrity and freshness of critical data assets.
- Partner with subject matter experts to translate domain-specific requirements into mathematical models and algorithmic solutions.
- Lead the integration of new data sources, applying advanced feature engineering techniques to unlock novel insights and predictive capabilities.
- Optimize model parameters and architectures to improve recall, reduce false positives, and enhance the overall reliability of AI systems.
- Guide the development roadmap for new AI features, providing technical leadership and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing best practices in model validation, experimentation, and documentation of methodologies.
- Evaluate emerging vector databases and LLM frameworks to determine the best tools for specific enterprise use cases.
- Conduct proof-of-concept trials to assess the feasibility of adopting new technologies within the existing C3 Ai infrastructure.
- Communicate project status and technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise presentations.
- Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise security policies and data governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Hold an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrate practical experience with generative AI, agentic systems, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning methodologies.
- Possess a strong mathematical foundation, including advanced knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistical inference.
- Show evidence of deploying machine learning models at scale within cloud-native or distributed computing environments.
- Exhibit a proven track record of managing complex projects independently while coordinating effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Maintain excellent verbal communication skills, capable of explaining sophisticated concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate strong written communication skills, producing clear documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
- Have hands-on experience with the C3 Ai Platform or a deep understanding of enterprise AI application architectures.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities may shift based on client needs.
- Possess the legal right to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for this position at this time.
Nice to have
- Write production-level code with proficiency in Python, utilizing modern data science libraries and software engineering best practices.
- Bring experience with Java, JavaScript, or Scala to contribute to full-stack development and system integration.
- Understand Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and have hands-on work with vector databases for similarity search.
- Have familiarity with major LLM frameworks such as LlamaIndex and LangChain for building context-aware applications.
- Present a portfolio of AI work, including notable open-source contributions, academic publications, or well-documented GitHub projects.
- Show experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or Dask for processing large datasets.
- Demonstrate knowledge of MLOps tools and practices, including model monitoring, versioning, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Highlight any previous work in regulated industries where compliance, auditability, and explainability are critical success factors.
