[EU] Payments Principle Product Specialist

About the role

Bybit is on a mission to enhance its payment services across the European Union, and we are looking for a seasoned product specialist to spearhead this initiative from our Vienna office. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle for our payment offerings, engage with regulatory bodies, and develop the infrastructure necessary to support millions of users on a leading global cryptocurrency exchange platform.

What you'll do

• Take charge of the entire lifecycle of payment products, which includes managing accounts, international transfers, card services, digital payments, digital wallets, fiat currencies, and stablecoins (e-money tokens).
• Develop and oversee the clearing and settlement infrastructure utilizing SWIFT, EBA Clearing, and TIPS to ensure efficient transactions.
• Ensure adherence to SEPA and ISO 20022 payment standards to maintain compliance across all payment operations.
• Design and implement internal treasury and cash management systems aimed at optimizing liquidity and safeguarding funds.
• Act as the main liaison between engineering teams, legal and compliance departments, anti-money laundering (AML) teams, payment operations, sales, and external financial partners to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the payments landscape, adapting product strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and translate them into actionable development tasks.
• Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
• Provide training and support to internal teams on payment products and services, ensuring everyone is well-informed and equipped to assist clients.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, using this information to refine and improve payment offerings continuously.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to keep Bybit at the forefront of payment solutions.

Requirements

• A degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field is essential.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the payments sector, ideally within a bank, e-money institution, or payment service provider.
• In-depth technical understanding of payment protocols such as SWIFT and SEPA, as well as familiarity with clearing systems and product architecture, including wallets and currency exchanges.
• Comprehensive knowledge of European regulations, including PSD2/PSD3, the E-Money Act, AMLD, GDPR, and DORA, is crucial.
• Proven experience in safeguarding client funds and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Fluency in both English and German is required, as regular communication with Austrian regulatory authorities will be part of the role.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 environment, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a cryptocurrency or fintech environment would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with digital wallet architecture and e-money token frameworks is a plus.
• Experience with treasury and cash management systems will be beneficial.
