What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate closely with local and international teams to manage cash flow and financial reporting, maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the billing process, from invoice generation to payment collection, while maintaining strict adherence to financial policies.
- Lead initiatives to streamline financial operations, leveraging tools such as DATEV, Stripe, Moss, and Spendesk to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Act as a key point of contact for auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring that all financial documentation is complete and compliant.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks and implementing best practices across the finance function.
- Manage reconciliation of bank statements and ledgers to ensure that all transactions are correctly posted.
- Prepare financial reports that provide clear insights into the company's financial performance.
- Oversee the implementation of new accounting software and ensure effective training for all team members.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Develop financial policies and procedures that support the scalable growth of the company.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify areas for cost savings.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an in-house finance role, a well-regarded consultancy, or completion of training as a tax clerk or accountant. Candidates with 5-6+ years of experience may be considered for a Senior Manager position.
- A solid grasp of accounting principles and familiarity with tax considerations relevant to multi-jurisdictional companies.
- Hands-on experience with accounting, billing, and spend management software such as DATEV, Stripe, Moss, or Spendesk.
- Exceptional organizational skills and reliability, with a proven track record of independently managing recurring financial processes.
- A strong desire to optimize and automate workflows, with a keen eye for identifying inefficiencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset, comfortable with taking on new responsibilities.
- High levels of ownership, dependability, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in English (C1+ level) and at least B1 level in German.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the Software as a Service (SaaS) sector or the fund industry would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards and practices.
