As a Senior Systems Engineer at Boxpower, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative energy solutions. What you'll do

Lead the design and development of complex energy systems, ensuring they meet both technical and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to define system specifications and performance criteria.
Conduct detailed system analysis and simulations to optimize performance and reliability.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system designs, including schematics, specifications, and operational procedures.
Oversee the integration of various components and subsystems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility.
Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality components and materials for system builds.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during the installation and commissioning phases.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers on system operation and maintenance.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in renewable energy systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement in existing systems and processes.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in system engineering.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software.
Strong understanding of energy systems, including solar, wind, and battery storage technologies.
Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.

Nice to have

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience with software development and programming languages such as Python or C++.
Knowledge of energy management systems and smart grid technologies.
Certification in project management (PMP or similar) or systems engineering (CSEP or similar).
Previous experience in a startup environment or with innovative energy solutions.

Skills & tools

Proficient in engineering design software and tools, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques for performance assessment.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems integration.
Experience with testing and validation processes for energy systems.
