Growth Engineer

About the Role

Bounce is building cloud storage for the physical world, starting with the largest global luggage storage network in existence. This role focuses on scaling the Bounce marketplace by owning experiments that drive user acquisition and conversion for travelers worldwide. You will transform complex user behavior into simple, intuitive flows across web and native platforms. This position demands ownership, speed, and a bias for shipping real value.

You will take ownership of real customer problems and turn them into simple, delightful experiences across both backend and frontend. Much of the work focuses on scaling acquisition channels, building growth systems, and creating product experiences that help more users find and use Bounce. A key part of the role involves experimentation and data-driven iteration. You will run A/B tests, analyze user behavior, and continuously improve conversion funnels and growth loops through rapid experimentation and product improvements.

What You'll Do

Setting acquisition experiments that target new travelers and increase marketplace entry.

Architecting backend services in Elixir to handle global traffic surges and partner integrations.

Designing frontend interfaces in React Native that reduce steps for booking storage.

Guiding features from concept to production while coordinating with design and product teams.

Building analytics workflows that track conversion and surface insights for rapid iteration.

Partnering with local operators to refine listings and improve host onboarding journeys.

Shipping tests for checkout flows that raise completion rates across different countries.

Reviewing production behavior and removing friction from critical user paths.

Requirements

You have hands-on experience creating production systems that serve real users.

You function as a generalist, owning entire features from initial idea through live deployment.

You code using JavaScript, Typescript, Elixir, or Ruby with strong frontend skills.

You build interfaces using React, React Native, and related mobile technologies.

You have a record of maintaining codebases that are testable and easy to extend.

You care deeply about small details that improve traveler satisfaction.

You stay current with tools and can implement them effectively in your work.

You understand CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure concerns for web apps.

Projects are usually scoped down to fit into one or two cycles. Projects are led by individuals, but are a shared effort across the entire team. Write high-quality code for our mobile and web applications.

Assume strong ownership of products and services, and continuously improve and maintain existing code and architecture.

Work in a fast-paced environment and shoulder the responsibility and commitment of the production environment.

Work with Elixir, React Native, Expo, React, NextJS, and Typescript, and introduce other technologies when beneficial.

Bring a passion for staying on top of industry trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and participating in internal and external technology communities.

Your Profile

Relevant experience developing and shipping code for production systems.

Generalist that strives for velocity and loves owning a feature from start to finish by contributing across the stack.

Proficient coding skills in one or more of the following

Javascript, Typescript, Elixir, or Ruby.

Experience with frontend frameworks and technologies, including but not limited to React, React Native, Javascript, CSS, etc.

Proven experience in building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit/integration testing techniques.

Commitment to creating an exceptional end-user experience, with attention to the smallest details that can elevate their interaction with our platform.

Current knowledge of relevant technologies and an ability to implement them effectively.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have

Experience with marketplaces or two-sided networks.

Work on high-scale consumer platforms in travel or logistics.

Skills & Tools

Elixir, React Native, Expo, React, NextJS, Typescript.

Practical Notes

Hours may vary; on-call responsibility exists for production issues.

Travel is not required, and roles are eligible for local visa sponsorship.
