As a QA/QC Specialist on the 2nd shift at Bkimechanical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to demonstrate compliance with quality standards.
- Train and mentor production staff on quality assurance practices and procedures to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, presenting findings to management for strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS), ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and processes aimed at improving product quality and reducing waste.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives and initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance and control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques, including measurement instruments and testing equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with document control processes and quality record management.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt).
- Experience with electronic quality management systems (eQMS).
- Knowledge of the specific industry standards relevant to Bkimechanical's products and services.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a quality department.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and methodologies.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with quality management software and tools for tracking and reporting quality metrics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering drawings for product inspections.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control techniques.
Practical notes
- This position requires working the 2nd shift, which may involve evening and night hours.
- The role may involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
