What you'll do

• Conduct thorough inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to demonstrate compliance with quality standards.
• Train and mentor production staff on quality assurance practices and procedures to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, presenting findings to management for strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS), ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and processes aimed at improving product quality and reducing waste.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives and initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance and control.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques, including measurement instruments and testing equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with document control processes and quality record management.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt).
• Experience with electronic quality management systems (eQMS).
• Knowledge of the specific industry standards relevant to Bkimechanical's products and services.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a quality department.
• Familiarity with risk management principles and methodologies.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with quality management software and tools for tracking and reporting quality metrics.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Familiarity with CAD software and engineering drawings for product inspections.
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control techniques.

• This position requires working the 2nd shift, which may involve evening and night hours.
• The role may involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
