About the role
As a , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of our mechanical projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with various teams to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget. You will be working closely with project managers and engineers to track progress, identify potential delays, and implement solutions to keep projects on track. What you'll do
- Develop comprehensive project schedules using advanced scheduling software, ensuring all tasks are clearly defined and timelines are realistic.
- Collaborate with project managers and team leads to gather project requirements and milestones, translating them into actionable schedules.
- Monitor project progress, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in scope, resources, or timelines.
- Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review schedules, discuss potential issues, and ensure alignment on project goals.
- Prepare and distribute schedule reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, potential risks, and areas requiring attention.
- Utilize critical path analysis to identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines.
- Maintain an organized database of project schedules, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
- Support the project management team in resource allocation, ensuring that the right personnel are assigned to tasks based on their skills and availability.
- Assist in the development of project budgets by providing accurate scheduling information that reflects resource needs and timelines.
- Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure that all teams are informed of schedule changes and project updates.
- Participate in post-project evaluations to assess scheduling effectiveness and identify areas for improvement in future projects.
- Stay current with industry best practices and advancements in scheduling tools and methodologies to enhance project efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within the mechanical or construction industry.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or a similar credential.
- Experience with Lean construction principles or other efficiency methodologies.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management related to project scheduling.
- Familiarity with risk management practices in project execution.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within project teams.
