What you'll do

• Prepare and maintain detailed project cost reports that track expenditures, budgets, and forecasts to ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze project costs and variances, providing insights to project managers to help them make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets and financial plans, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
• Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct regular audits of project costs and financial records to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Provide training and support to project managers on financial processes and tools, fostering a culture of financial accountability.
• Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in project accounting.
• Support the finance team in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets for upcoming projects, contributing to strategic planning efforts.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in project accounting to continuously improve processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant regulations and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with experience in ERP systems being a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in the construction or mechanical industries, providing a solid understanding of project cost structures.
• Knowledge of advanced Excel functions and data analysis techniques to enhance reporting capabilities.
