Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in İstanbul, Sarıyer. What you'll do

• Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies, ensuring they align with company objectives and legal standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the ride-hailing industry, advising the company on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
• Represent Bamboohr in legal proceedings, including disputes and negotiations, working alongside external counsel when necessary.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making processes, preparing reports and presentations for management.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on legal matters, promoting awareness of legal responsibilities and best practices.
• Monitor and manage legal risks associated with new business initiatives, ensuring that all projects comply with legal requirements.
• Participate in strategic planning discussions, providing legal insights that align with Bamboohr's business objectives.
• Engage with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders to advocate for Bamboohr's interests and navigate the evolving legal landscape.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and systems within the organization, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• A law degree from a recognized institution and a valid license to practice law in Turkey.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably within the technology or transportation sectors.
• Strong understanding of Turkish commercial law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements relevant to the ride-hailing industry.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, with a keen eye for detail and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical legal solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in international law or cross-border transactions, particularly in the technology sector.
• Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and local privacy laws.
• Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth company environment.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is highly desirable.
• Membership in relevant professional associations or legal networks.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in legal research tools and databases, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
• Familiarity with contract management software and compliance tracking systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly in Word and Excel for document preparation and analysis.
• Ability to utilize project management tools to track legal projects and deadlines effectively.
