What you'll do

• Lead and manage multiple water and wastewater projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists, and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables that align with client needs.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to clients and senior management, effectively communicating project status and potential risks.
• Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of project milestones.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing solutions to address any challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth project execution and compliance with local regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior project staff, providing support and training to enhance their professional development and project management skills.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies within the organization.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to water and wastewater management to ensure Binnie remains at the forefront of the field.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and proposals for new projects, contributing to the growth and success of the company.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurately maintained throughout the project lifecycle, facilitating transparency and accountability.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the water and wastewater sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in water and wastewater management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Nice to have

• Professional Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is an asset.
• Experience with environmental assessments and regulatory compliance in the water sector.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and innovative technologies in water management.
• Previous experience working with municipal clients or public sector projects.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a plus.
