About the role

Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users, serving over 300 million people across more than 100 countries. The Head of Risk, NTL will lead the risk management function for the NTL product line within Binance's global ecosystem. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across trading, operations, and compliance domains. The position reports to senior leadership and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and stability of Binance's digital asset services.

What you'll do

1. Oversee the end-to-end risk framework for the NTL product, ensuring alignment with Binance's global risk appetite and governance standards.

2. Design and implement risk monitoring dashboards that provide real-time visibility into exposure across trading, liquidity, and operational channels.

3. Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all NTL activities adhere to regulatory requirements in the UAE and other key jurisdictions.

4. Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing scenarios to evaluate the resilience of NTL under adverse market conditions.

5. Partner with the trading and product teams to embed risk controls into the development lifecycle of new NTL features and services.

6. Manage a team of risk analysts and professionals, providing mentorship, setting performance expectations, and driving continuous improvement.

7. Develop and maintain risk policies, procedures, and documentation that meet both internal standards and external regulatory expectations.

8. Analyze market, credit, and operational risk data to inform strategic decisions and support Binance's growth in the digital asset space.

9. Coordinate with the security team to assess and address cybersecurity and fraud-related risks specific to the NTL product.

10. Present risk reports and insights to executive leadership, board committees, and external stakeholders on a regular cadence.

11. Evaluate third-party vendor and partner risk as it relates to the NTL product ecosystem and supply chain.

12. Drive a culture of risk awareness across the organization through training programs and cross-departmental communication initiatives.

Requirements

1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within financial services, cryptocurrency, or blockchain industries.

2. Proven track record of leading risk teams and managing enterprise-level risk frameworks in a fast-paced environment.

3. Deep understanding of digital asset markets, cryptocurrency trading mechanics, and the unique risk profiles of blockchain-based products.

4. Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks and international compliance standards relevant to financial services and digital assets.

5. Experience with risk modeling, quantitative analysis, and statistical methods applied to trading or financial operations.

6. Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams of risk professionals across multiple locations.

7. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

8. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.

Nice to have

1. Prior experience working at a major cryptocurrency exchange or fintech platform with global reach and high transaction volumes.

2. Familiarity with Binance's product suite and the broader digital asset ecosystem, including DeFi and institutional services.

3. Certifications such as FRM, CFA, or equivalent risk management credentials.

4. Experience navigating multi-jurisdictional regulatory landscapes, particularly in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

Skills & tools

1. Proficiency in risk management software and platforms used for monitoring and reporting.

2. Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities, including proficiency with SQL for querying large datasets.

3. Experience with Python or R for building risk models, performing statistical analysis, and automating reporting workflows.

4. Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools for creating executive-facing risk dashboards.

5. Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO ERM, or NIST.

6. Strong understanding of trading systems, order management platforms, and the technical infrastructure underlying digital asset exchanges.

Practical notes

1. This is a full-time, remote position based out of the UAE, Dubai office, with flexibility to work across time zones as needed for global coordination.

2. The role requires occasional travel to Binance offices or partner locations for on-site meetings, regulatory engagements, and team events.
