What You'll Do

Execute or coordinate routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to uphold peak operational performance.

Troubleshoot and triage equipment issues in real time, escalating to vendors when specialized support is required.

Perform Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification on equipment to validate compliance and readiness.

Draft documentation related to equipment operation, maintenance activities, and standard procedures as needed.

Suggest process improvements and design a structured plan to execute them within the service workflow.

Maintain organized equipment parts inventory and comprehensive equipment records for traceability and reliability.

Support the implementation and resolution of special projects as assigned by service leadership.

Work in a cross-functional team responsible for service, support, and troubleshooting of automated processes and instrumentation.

Ensure detailed records are kept for all service activities to support quality and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with laboratory operations to align service schedules and minimize impact on patient testing.

Requirements

BS degree in a scientific discipline as the foundational educational requirement for the role.

Associate II: 1+ years of experience servicing Liquid Handlers, or 2+ years of experience in a technical service role within a laboratory setting.

Familiarity with the basics of a coding language and flow control logic to interpret and troubleshoot automated processes.

Understanding of clinical laboratory assays, their applications, and the implications for diagnostic workflows.

Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems with minimal direction while maintaining ownership of outcomes.

Strong willingness to learn and adapt within a complex laboratory environment that evolves with emerging technologies.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure service activities meet stringent quality and compliance standards.

Excellent documentation skills with working knowledge of Good Document Practices (GDP) for regulatory compliance.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience with troubleshooting liquid handler scripts is desirable for faster resolution of automation issues.

Programming and coding experience to support customizations and integrations with laboratory systems.

Experience working in a CLIA regulated environment to ensure compliance with clinical testing standards.

Experience developing training programs and performing knowledge transfer to strengthen team capability.

Ability to effectively work in a team environment and build strong working relationships across functions.

High degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive improvements and support operational excellence.

At BilliontoOne, we are proud to offer a combination of a (1) base pay range (actual amount offered is based on experience and salary/equity options split that the candidate chooses), (2) generous equity options offering, (3) corporate bonus program, on top of (4) industry leading company benefits (free healthcare options, 401k match, very generous fully paid parental leave, etc.).

For this position, we offer a total compensation package of up to $84,891 per year, including an hourly rate of $28.90-$32.84 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience and leveling.
