You will coordinate shipping readiness for audio content, providing clear quality evidence to stakeholders, and guide development partners on correct audio implementation while documenting known issues. You will maintain strict traceability between test checks, results, and associated ticket histories, and drive comparative experiments to analyze audio behavior across target platforms. You will champion and enforce audio consistency standards for every game release.
Specific tasks include validating dialogue, music, and SFX implementation against design specifications; performing regression testing to ensure new changes do not disrupt existing audio features; utilizing audio analysis tools to inspect waveforms, levels, and playback synchronization; verifying that audio cues trigger correctly in response to in-game events and player actions; assessing spatialization and mixing to confirm that sound positioning meets design intent; collaborating with audio leads to establish test criteria for new features and updates; escalating critical audio defects to engineering teams with comprehensive reproduction steps; supporting localization efforts by verifying translated audio files and timing accuracy; monitoring audio logs to identify technical issues related to streaming or decoding; and ensuring all audio assets comply with platform certification requirements.
Requirements
To meet the bar for this position, you must possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or equivalent testing roles. You must have demonstrated experience with audio-specific tools and pipelines within game development, along with a proven track record of shipping titles on console platforms and managing patch cycles. You must be capable of reading tickets critically and writing precise, actionable test steps, with a thorough understanding of standard bug life cycles and detailed reporting practices. Practical experience using Jira and designing structured test cases is essential. Additionally, you must exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle audio anomalies, excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, and the capacity to manage multiple testing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You must be committed to following established testing protocols and procedures, reliable in meeting deadlines, and adaptable to evolving project requirements and technical challenges.
