We're headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (four days/ week in-office, with no required office days during the summer and winter holidays). The Senior Fraud Analyst will act as the analytical owner of our customer risk rating, KYC, and fraud monitoring models, using data to shape how we detect, prevent, and respond to emerging fraud trends. You will partner closely with Data, Compliance, and Product to design controls, build monitoring, and regularly advise leadership on model performance, threats, and residual risk. This role is based out of our NYC office and requires a deep commitment to owning complex fraud logic end to end. You will translate ambiguous business risk into precise analytical strategies and measurable outcomes.

What you'll do
Set up and perform continuous rule performance monitoring across key fraud control environments.
Utilize data analytics to refine rules and reduce false positives while balancing detection integrity.
Design new rules to address emerging fraud patterns and detect suspicious activity before material impact.
Identify and remedy control gaps through systematic testing and cross-functional collaboration.
Orchestrate fraud monitoring through the full customer journey across payment rails, funding flows, logins, and behavioral signals.
Strengthen case management process to ensure consistent, auditable decisioning and clear escalation paths.
Partner with Engineering for data harvesting, analytics, and rule implementation with a focus on production readiness.
Lead cross-functional projects from problem definition through implementation and post-mortem, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on goals, timelines, and outcomes.
Identify, implement and assess vendor solutions to augment internal fraud capabilities and risk coverage.
Maintain and enhance customer risk rating, signup, and related fraud scoring models with rigorous validation standards.
Define clear model performance metrics (e.g., detection rate, false positive rate, lift) and establish monitoring to track drift over time.
Partner with Customer Experience team to identify friction points, customer abandonment, and true cost of fraud prevention.
Reduce account locks, allow faster money movements, and lower ID request rates while not increasing fraud risk.
Increase customer greenlight passes and ensure manual reviews provide strong controls with efficient throughput.
Partner with Data/Analytics to build dashboards that surface fraud KPIs, trends, model health, and control coverage for a variety of stakeholders including Ops, Compliance, Product, and Leadership.
Create recurring reporting packages for FraudCo and Risk leadership, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
Requirements
You bring 3-5+ years of direct experience in fraud prevention, analytics, and financial crime within fintech, banking, brokerage, or payments.
Your background must include hands-on experience with fraud patterns and controls such as ATO, ACH/transfer, card fraud, KYC/KYB, and synthetic identities.
Advanced SQL is strictly required; you must be able to frame analytical questions, design experiments, and interpret model and rule performance confidently.
You must demonstrate comfort working with data models, querying large datasets, and translating findings into operational controls.
Experience partnering with Engineering, Compliance, and Product is essential to align on risk strategies and implementation.
You must have a strong understanding of regulatory expectations and risk management principles in financial services.
A methodical approach to testing, measuring, and documenting fraud controls is non-negotiable for this role.
You must be able to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
