Product Manager
Job description
Product Manager at Beacon Software.
About the role
You will own product outcomes for a small set of portfolio companies, embedding yourself directly into their day to day operations to ensure software delivers real business value. This role requires you to act as a fractional product leader, translating high level strategic intent into tangible product decisions that move the needle on revenue, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will work hand in hand with general managers, operators, and frontline teams to uncover leverage points and turn them into shipped functionality. The best candidates will compress insights from one engagement into reusable playbooks that accelerate every other company in the same vertical. This is a hands on role where the primary deliverable is a running system, not a deck of slides or a theoretical roadmap.
Key facts
What you'll do
Coordinate product discovery and validation cycles with portfolio company stakeholders to validate hypotheses quickly and reduce risk.
Lead quarterly and annual planning sessions, helping portfolio teams define product visions, objectives, and measurable success metrics.
Build and maintain living roadmaps that balance customer demands, business objectives, and technical feasibility across multiple companies.
Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, and execution rituals to improve team velocity, predictability, and delivery consistency.
Develop and maintain prioritization frameworks that enable founders and operators to make faster, better product decisions with limited resources.
Construct customer feedback systems that transform qualitative interviews and support tickets into actionable roadmap decisions.
Coordinate feature launches across engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure consistent messaging and smooth adoption.
Coach developers, designers, and junior product managers to think like product leaders who advocate for customer and business outcomes.
Distill learnings from each engagement into cross portfolio playbooks that scale impact and repeat success across the portfolio.
Own the end to end product lifecycle for key features, from initial concept through adoption, optimization, and eventual sunsetting.
Translate complex business problems into clear product requirements that engineers can execute against without constant clarification.
Partner with data and GTM teams to design experiments that prove or disprove product hypotheses in a cost effective manner.
Champion the voice of the customer inside the portfolio company, ensuring product decisions are grounded in real world needs.
Identify and mitigate operational risks by tracking product health metrics and driving corrective actions where necessary.
Requirements
You must have 4 or more years of product management experience, ideally focused on B2B SaaS products and solutions.
You demonstrate strong fundamentals in roadmapping, sprint planning, specification writing, and prioritization frameworks.
You have sharp customer discovery instincts and the ability to identify high impact opportunities quickly based on limited data.
You are comfortable managing multiple companies, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously without dropping critical work.
You can influence founders and executives who do not report to you, relying on persuasion, data, and clarity of thought.
You operate with high autonomy and low ego, figuring out problems end to end and getting critical work done even when resources are constrained.
You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and feel comfortable navigating ambiguity while still delivering concrete results.
You are willing to relocate to Toronto, Ontario, and work full time in an office based environment as defined by the role.
Nice to have
Experience as an ex founder or strong interest in building your own B2B SaaS company in the future.
Exposure to private equity owned software businesses, rollup strategies, or portfolio scale operations.
Deep curiosity about how AI can be applied to vertical workflows in industries that are often overlooked by mainstream tech.
A track record of building capability in other people, coaching engineers or designers to take ownership of product outcomes.
Familiarity with industries that are profitable but rarely covered by major technology vendors, often because they are complex or fragmented.
Interest in developing reusable playbooks that turn isolated learnings into scalable advantages across a portfolio.
Practical notes
This role requires relocation to Toronto, Ontario, as the position is based in the office full time.
The engagement is full time, and the schedule aligns with standard business hours and on call responsibilities as needed for portfolio support.
Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship, given the permanent nature of the role and the operational demands of the portfolio.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position due to the permanent, embedded nature of the work.
Travel within the portfolio and to customer sites may be required to validate assumptions, observe workflows, and conduct discovery sessions.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the role is filled, so early submission is encouraged for consideration.
