Senior IT Corporate Engineer
Job description
Senior IT Corporate Engineer at Beacon Software.
About the role
You will build and operate the core systems that power Beacon, working directly with the Staff Corporate Engineer. This is a hands on position on a small team where you own real components of the stack. You will manage identity, endpoint, access, and the SaaS layer while the staff engineer defines the broader architecture. You learn parts of the system you do not yet know, own well defined pieces end to end, and move fast through execution. This role fits candidates with several years of corporate engineering or IT experience who prefer writing code and building infrastructure instead of managing queues of tickets in a large organization. You will be expected to dive into complex problems, automate repetitive tasks, and contribute directly to the reliability and security of the systems that support the company.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design and maintain identity, access, and permissions systems that serve the company globally.
Automate lifecycle management for user accounts, devices, and credentials to reduce manual overhead and errors.
Operate and monitor the SaaS layer that powers internal workflows and user experiences on a daily basis.
Implement and evaluate infrastructure tooling, including modern automation and AI enabled utilities, to improve security and efficiency.
Assess emerging AI driven tools for security and operations, determining appropriate use cases for production environments.
Own well defined work streams from design through implementation, testing, and rollout without unnecessary dependency delays.
Document configurations, runbooks, and architecture decisions so that systems remain understandable and maintainable over time.
Monitor network segments, permission models, and system health to uphold corporate security standards continuously.
Coordinate with partners during mergers and acquisitions, handling multi entity systems and complex data integrations.
Maintain endpoint security posture by managing MDM and device lifecycle, focusing on macOS and Windows platforms.
Support day to day operations, including access reviews, patching, and other critical maintenance activities.
Write scripts and automation to solve operational problems and improve the scalability of internal processes.
Collaborate closely with the Staff Corporate Engineer to align implementation details with long term architectural vision.
Continuously observe and refine security controls to ensure resilience against evolving threats over time.
Requirements
Bring five or more years of hands on experience in corporate engineering, IT, systems, or similar infrastructure roles.
Demonstrate solid knowledge of identity, SSO, SCIM, and MFA with a desire to deepen your understanding of modern access architecture.
Show hands on experience with MDM and endpoint security, focusing on macOS and Windows device lifecycle.
Work comfortably in a terminal and write scripts to solve problems efficiently and reliably.
Ask strong questions and then find answers independently, showing initiative when information is incomplete.
Handle ambiguity and take action even when requirements or context are not fully defined.
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Commit to learning new technologies and applying them where they meaningfully improve outcomes for the team.
Points That Strengthen Your Application
Experience with mergers and integrations across multiple entities.
Exposure to security frameworks and controls relevant to audits.
Hands on experience with AI driven workflows applied in production.

How We Use AI in Our Hiring Process
Beacon Software uses Artificial Intelligence and AI enabled tools to assist with screening, reviewing, organizing, and highlighting profiles that match the key requirements for this role. AI does not make hiring decisions. Every application is reviewed by a human team member, and all decisions are made by people.
