About the role

You will own the end to end product strategy and execution for a specific industry vertical inside the Beacon portfolio, making the core decisions that define what gets built and when. You will act as a player coach, spending significant time inside two or three portfolio companies to unblock product teams and validate direction in the field. You will build and eventually lead a small product management organization, shaping how these teams operate and collaborate. You will translate founder vision and customer reality into clear, executable roadmaps that can be consistently followed across multiple businesses. You will codify what you learn so that insights from one portfolio company become powerful leverage for all the others. This role is responsible for outcomes, not activity, delivering a running system that materially advances an entire industry vertical. You will partner closely with founders, operators, and go to market teams to ensure product work moves the business forward in a durable way.

What you'll do

Define and own the product strategy for your assigned vertical, setting the north star and measurable outcomes across all portfolio companies in that segment.

Work hands on inside two or three portfolio companies as a de facto product leader, running discovery sessions, prioritizing backlogs, and ensuring high quality execution.

Hire, onboard, and develop additional product managers, building a cohesive team that can scale as the portfolio grows.

Create and maintain reusable playbooks, templates, and frameworks that turn isolated wins into repeatable patterns across the portfolio.

Partner with general managers, founders, and operators to translate abstract vision into concrete, executable product roadmaps.

Drive quarterly and annual planning cycles, ensuring alignment on priorities, dependencies, and shared initiatives across multiple businesses.

Establish and enforce the standard for product excellence at Beacon, including rigorous customer discovery, clear specs, and disciplined prioritization.

Collaborate with engineering, data, and go to market teams to enable the coordinated rollout of features that impact several portfolio companies simultaneously.

Mine qualitative and quantitative signals from your vertical to surface patterns that can inform Beacon's broader AI platform and product strategy.

Represent the voice of the portfolio and the industry to shape platform level investments and capabilities that unlock new forms of value.

Requirements

Bring seven or more years of product management experience, with at least two of those years in a formal leadership capacity or as a co-founder.

Demonstrate a track record of leading and developing other product managers, not just producing great work yourself.

Show deep experience in B2B SaaS, having navigated multiple products or business models over time.

Think in systems, connecting dots across companies and turning observations into durable frameworks and reusable playbooks.

Comfortably manage multiple businesses, stakeholders, and timelines without losing clarity or focus.

Influence founders and executives without direct authority, earning trust through insight and execution.

Operate with high autonomy and low ego, solving hard problems independently and driving results in messy situations.

Approach the work with an entrepreneurial mindset, staying comfortable with ambiguity and making progress despite incomplete information.

Nice to have

Experience operating inside a portfolio environment or working with companies that have been acquired and scaled under new ownership.

Background in industries that are often overlooked by mainstream tech but highly profitable.

Exposure to AI native product development and platform thinking at scale.
