About the role Plant Manager Position Purpose The Plant Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of production, maintenance, scheduling, and shipping with a primary emphasis on safety. This role ensures that daily operations run efficiently, culture is protected, and regulatory standards are met without exception. Decisions made by the Plant Manager align production with customer needs and company reliability. Primary Duties & Responsibilities The Plant Manager will follow and enforce all established safety rules, policies, and procedures. Maintaining OSHA regulatory compliance is a core function across written programs, associate training, and plant operations. Best practices must be followed in all production-related functions to sustain a positive workplace culture and associate morale. Necessary safety documentation will be recorded, retained, and updated as required. Plant cleanliness and orderly work areas will be maintained continuously. The Plant Manager will be an active participant on the Division Safety Committee. Areas of responsibility for immediate subordinates will be established, and general direction will be provided to various departments. This ensures adherence to production schedules, performance standards, quality expectations, safety programs, and company policies. Direct oversight will be provided to production, maintenance, and shipping teams regarding production requirements, equipment utilization, quality and quantity standards, safety and housekeeping, and equipment repair and maintenance. Customer specifications will be ensured during the manufacturing process. Timely corrective action will be taken on manufacturing-related internal quality audit deficiencies. Nonconforming product will be properly identified and segregated for disposition. Reports on manpower, attendance, job bidding, labor costs, overtime, and equipment efficiencies will be analyzed. Corrective measures will be investigated, determined, and implemented to address operational deviations from established standards. Improvements to methods, equipment, and material handling techniques will be developed and implemented. Capital equipment needs, employment levels, and budgets will be analyzed, with recommendations provided for these applications. Industry contacts will be maintained to remain informed about new developments, programs, machinery, and trends. Inventory management will be driven, and industry news and pricing for necessary supplies such as ink, skids, and adhesives will be tracked. Supervisors and management in production, maintenance, and shipping will be staffed, trained, and mentored. The Plant Manager will prepare these individuals for new responsibilities and future challenges. Associate change status requests will be approved, and effective recommendations will be presented to the General Manager regarding discipline, promotion, transfer, or termination. This role operates full-time in a non-temperature-regulated manufacturing plant and warehouse setting. Skill Sets and Tools The ability to drive results, solve problems, and lead others in situations lacking necessary detail is essential. Effective collaboration with all departmental managers is required to achieve organizational objectives. Strong verbal and written communication and mentoring skills must be demonstrated. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Knowledge of plant equipment and operations is necessary. Attention to detail must be strong, and lean methods should be applied proficiently. The Plant Manager will become proficient in and utilize company project management software and other data management systems, including Amtech job costing, RPM modules, and UKG HRIS. Compensation: $95,000.00 per year for experienced candidates What You Will Do You will set clear performance standards for teams while driving safe and efficient plant floor execution. Maintenance schedules will be designed, and corrective actions directed to reduce downtime and sustain output quality. Coordination with logistics partners will verify that shipments meet timelines, specifications, and carrier requirements. Inventory controls will be established to balance supply with demand while monitoring costs and waste indicators. Supervisors will be guided through structured training so they can manage change requests and support career growth. Analytics related to labor, equipment, and shipments will be reviewed to uncover patterns and operational risks. Process changes will be implemented to improve methods, layout, and material handling without disrupting workflow. Relationships with industry contacts will be built to stay informed about machinery, regulations, and market trends. Requirements You must manage all production, maintenance, scheduling, and shipping activities with a focus on safety. OSHA compliance must be maintained across written programs, training, and daily plant operations. Quality standards must be met while adhering to company policies and production targets. Safety records will be documented, retained, and updated accurately and promptly. The plant and work areas will be kept clean, orderly, and organized at all times. Active contribution to division safety initiatives and committee responsibilities is required. Reports on manpower, attendance, costs, and equipment efficiency will be analyzed to guide decisions.
