Chief of Staff
Job description
Chief of Staff at Basic Capital.
About the role
The Chief of Staff at Basic Capital will operate as the primary operational counterpart to CEO Abdul Al-Asaad, driving execution across a high-velocity environment building a next-generation retirement platform. This role owns the construction of the operational infrastructure that supports leveraged investment strategies through a novel Retirement Mortgage capability aimed at a vast, largely unmodernized $10 trillion market. Since its emergence just over a year ago, the company has experienced 30% month-over-month expansion, executing rapid scaling and securing a $25 million Series A round at an $110 million valuation with backing from investors such as Bill Ackman, Lux Capital, and Forerunner Ventures. The Chief of Staff will ensure that every engagement with partners like Coinbase, Apollo, and government entities is captured, actioned, and concluded successfully, guaranteeing that no opportunity is lost. This is an execution-centric function designed to remove friction from a founder's schedule, allowing Abdul Al-Asaad to focus on the highest-value strategic activities. The role provides high visibility to top-tier investors and regulatory authorities, with a trajectory that can evolve toward a President-level position over time. The team is composed of professionals with backgrounds from Goldman Sachs, Robinhood, Stripe, Uber, and leading academic institutions, operating from a high-intensity hub in Tribeca, New York City.
