Sales Development Representative
Job description
About the role
This role defines the top-of-fuel growth motion for a venture-backed eye care software startup. The position targets early-career individuals who aim to evolve into a closing role over time.
Data roles turn raw information into decisions. Analysts query databases and build dashboards. Data scientists build models that predict outcomes. Data engineers build the pipelines that move and store data. All three work closely with business teams and need a mix of statistics, coding, and communication. Nearly every modern company runs on data teams, from startups to banks. A strong portfolio of past analyses matters more than degrees in many hiring decisions.

Skills & tools

Practical notes
You will work remotely from anywhere in the United States. The role is full-time with equity, health, vision, and dental benefits, plus PTO and an annual professional development stipend. Typical interview steps
Data interviews commonly include a SQL or coding exercise, a statistics question, and a case study. Candidates may be asked to design a metric, interpret an experiment, or build a small model. Some companies give a take-home analysis. Expect questions about past projects and the business impact of your work. Interviewers often evaluate how you communicate uncertainty and business impact, not only the math. Bringing a clean write-up of a past analysis to the interview is well received.
Good to know
Eye care software combines clinical workflows with practice management. Modern sales motions depend on data, outreach cadences, and coaching feedback. Remote work enables nationwide hiring without geographic constraints. Early career paths often move from SDR to AE in mission-driven startups. CRM discipline underpins forecast accuracy and pipeline health.
Career growth
Data careers grow toward senior analyst, staff data scientist, or data engineering lead. Many professionals specialize in machine learning, analytics, or infrastructure. Cross-functional work with product and engineering teams becomes more important at senior levels. The field changes quickly, so continuous learning is part of the job. Professionals who can translate numbers into decisions tend to advance fastest.
About the company
The Bartians were an Old Prussian tribe who were among the last natives following a pre-Christian religion before the Northern Crusades forced their conversion to Christianity at the cost of a high percentage of the native population. They lived in Bartia, a territory that stretched from the middle and lower flow of Łyna river, by the Liwna river, and Lake Mamry, up to the Galindian woods.
