Sales Development Representative (Industrial IoT
Job description
About the role
You will architect the initial outbound motion for US industrial accounts, establishing the foundational process alongside founding executives. This position requires you to own the entire inbound and outbound pipeline generation cycle without reliance on pre-existing structures or playbooks. You are tasked with articulating the value of thermal monitoring and predictive insights to plant stakeholders, guiding them from initial awareness through to scheduled technical conversations. Through your persistent outreach and precise messaging, you directly prevent equipment failure and fire risk by identifying latent threats before they escalate. This is a founding role designed for builders who will shape the playbook, messaging, and cadence from scratch as the US organization scales. You will operate at the intersection of sales and engineering, translating complex thermal data into compelling narratives for manufacturing and industrial leaders.
What you will do
Initiate outbound campaigns aimed at plant managers, maintenance leaders, and safety directors in industrial and manufacturing settings.
Utilize cold calling, structured email sequences, and social selling to engage prospects and surface critical risk scenarios related to thermal events.
Operate sales engagement technology, including sequencers and power dialers, to systematically manage your outreach activities and follow-up cadence.
Qualify expressed interest and efficiently route high-priority opportunities to the Account Executive team to ensure timely and professional conversion.
Participate in trade shows and on-site visits to gain direct exposure to operations, product usage, and unspoken customer concerns in the field.
Co-create the sales playbook by contributing insights, feedback, and tested approaches as the program develops from an early stage.
Represent the company at industry events and virtual gatherings, gathering direct feedback that informs messaging, positioning, and objection handling.
Convert inbound inquiries from marketing and direct outreach into scheduled meetings while ensuring a seamless transition to closing specialists and AE partners.
Pursue a defined career path from SDR to Account Executive by mastering the industrial IoT market landscape, product applications, and stakeholder dynamics in the US.
Execute discovery calls to uncover operational risks, regulatory pressures, and budget cycles that influence the timing and perceived value of thermal monitoring solutions.
Leverage data points and industry benchmarks to build credibility and urgency during initial conversations with technical and operational stakeholders.
Maintain meticulous records of all interactions, outcomes, and next steps within CRM to enable accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility for leadership.
Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to relay real-world feedback and use cases that shape future development and positioning.
Adhere to established compliance, safety, and data handling guidelines when discussing critical infrastructure and risk mitigation topics.
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and quick learning to grasp complex thermal imaging concepts and translate them into business outcomes for prospects.
Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency with sales technology is mandatory; you must adapt quickly to new platforms, CRM systems, and engagement tools without extensive guidance.
A record of achieving or surpassing outbound targets, including calls, meetings, and generated pipeline, is essential for consideration in this role.
You operate effectively in lean, early-stage environments, constructing processes, templates, and strategies as you advance rather than waiting for established procedures.
You communicate clearly and can conduct concise, qualification-focused conversations that respect the time constraints of busy plant professionals.
A growth-oriented mindset drives your progression toward an Account Executive role, with advancement anticipated within approximately one year based on performance and readiness.
You are comfortable working fully remote while maintaining rigorous communication standards and proactive collaboration with distributed teams.
The ability to manage a high volume of outbound activity while maintaining accuracy in messaging and data entry is a non-negotiable requirement.
You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, as this role requires immediate start and full integration with US-based teams.
Optional experience
Previous exposure to industrial or B2B hardware/software sales is not required but may accelerate your ramp to productivity.
Prior experience selling into plant or facility environments, including manufacturing, energy, or process industries, is beneficial but not a prerequisite.
Tools
Your work relies on the systems specified in the source material: sequencing platforms, power dialers, and CRM tools.
