About the role
The Manager, Business Strategy will own the development and execution of high-impact strategic initiatives that directly support the Baltimore Orioles organizational priorities. This role is responsible for partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to diagnose complex business problems and design actionable solutions that drive measurable outcomes. The hire will lead the creation of data-informed analyses that clarify opportunities, quantify trade-offs, and frame strategic recommendations for leadership. You will own the end-to-end process for specific strategic projects, from initial scoping and data gathering through synthesis and executive presentation. This position will play a key role in shaping how the organization operates, engages its community, and achieves sustained excellence on and off the field. You will advance data-driven decision-making, drive revenue growth, enhance fan engagement, and improve operational effectiveness through structured business analysis. The role requires translating ambiguous opportunities into clearly defined initiatives and aligning internal teams around a shared strategic direction. You will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, facilitating discussions, challenging assumptions, and ensuring that proposed solutions are both rigorous and implementable.

What you'll do
Analyze complex business problems and develop data-driven recommendations that address critical priorities across the organization.
Develop board-ready presentations, executive summaries, and communications that translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership.
Interact with and influence senior executives to advance strategic discussions and secure alignment on key initiatives.
Define project scope, objectives, and success metrics in partnership with stakeholders to ensure solutions are measurable and impactful.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather inputs, assess constraints, and design strategies that balance fan experience, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
Lead the synthesis of qualitative and quantitative insights to identify trends, root causes, and opportunity areas for organizational improvement.
Champion data-informed decision-making by building analytical frameworks and dashboards that clarify performance and guide strategic choices.
Coordinate and oversee workstreams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality strategic outputs and supporting materials.
Translate leadership priorities into actionable plans, clarifying requirements, dependencies, and implementation considerations for stakeholders.
Support the evaluation of strategic alternatives by modeling outcomes, comparing scenarios, and documenting trade-offs to guide decision-making.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to validate assumptions, test hypotheses, and refine recommendations based on feedback and evidence.
Own the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and standards for excellence.
Requirements
8+ years of relevant professional experience in business strategy, management consulting, or a closely related field.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems and deliver data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Proven experience developing executive-level presentations and written communications that influence leadership decisions.
Strong experience working with data, including extracting, analyzing, and interpreting information to support strategic conclusions.
Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively across functions and levels.
Experience in a highly matrixed environment where prioritization, stakeholder management, and ambiguity are常态.
Proven capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of quality.
Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information in line with professional standards.
